The Sony K-65XR30M2 is the 65-inch-class 2026 BRAVIA 3 II: a 4K LCD Google TV with a native 120 Hz panel, four HDMI inputs, and features including VRR and ALLM. Sony’s specifications make it a promisingly equipped option on paper, but they do not establish real-world picture quality, gaming latency, or sound performance. This is a specification-led review, not a hands-on test.
What is the Sony K-65XR30M2?
Sony identifies this model as the 2026 BRAVIA 3 II, a 65-inch-class TV with a measured 64.5-inch diagonal. It uses an LCD panel with Direct LED backlighting, frame dimming, and 3840 × 2160 resolution. Sony lists its XR Processor, XR Triluminos Pro, and Live Color features, along with Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG compatibility. These are manufacturer-listed technologies, not evidence by themselves of a particular level of brightness, contrast, color accuracy, or HDR impact. Sony’s K-65XR30M2 specifications do not state a peak-luminance figure.

How good is its picture?
The published specifications establish the panel type, resolution, backlight approach, and supported HDR formats; they do not establish how the TV performs in a room. No independent measurements are available here for brightness, black levels, contrast, blooming, viewing angles, or motion handling. Sony promotes the model with the line “Enjoy cinematic picture and sound at home with Dolby Vision® and Dolby Atmos®,” but that is product-page marketing, not an independent picture-quality assessment. Sony’s US product listing identifies the product and its advertised features.

Is the Sony K-65XR30M2 good for gaming?
On paper, the K-65XR30M2 has several features relevant to current consoles and PCs: Sony lists a native 120 Hz panel, VRR and ALLM on HDMI 1–4, and 4K120 among its HDMI features. That combination is useful to check against the output modes and connection requirements of your devices. However, the specifications do not provide measured input lag or establish how well motion, HDR, or variable refresh performs in games. Do not treat the feature list as a gaming-performance test.

Sony lists four HDMI ports—two on the side and two on the bottom—and includes eARC, VRR, ALLM, and SBTM in the HDMI feature list. Check the TV manual and your device requirements when planning which ports will serve a console, PC, receiver, or soundbar; the presence of a listed feature does not answer every port-specific setup question.
What smart TV and connectivity features does it have?
Sony lists Google TV, Google Play Store, Chromecast built-in, Apple AirPlay, HomeKit, and Wi-Fi 6E. The TV has 32 GB of onboard storage, Bluetooth 5.3, two USB ports, LAN, and a digital audio output. Sony also describes a built-in microphone and a microphone switch. For buyers choosing a TV around particular apps or casting workflows, confirm that the required services and features are available in their region.

The US product listing includes Gemini, but Sony qualifies its availability: it depends on a software update and select country, language, and age eligibility. Treat Gemini as a conditional feature rather than a guarantee for every buyer. Sony’s product page is the relevant listing for that qualification.

How is the sound?
Sony specifies two full-range speaker units with 20 W total output, Bass Reflex, and X-Balanced speaker types. Listed audio formats include Dolby Audio, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X; the connections include eARC/ARC. Format support and output wattage do not indicate how dialogue, bass, or surround effects sound in a room, and no listening test is established here. If you plan to use a soundbar, eARC/ARC is the relevant listed connection; Sony’s product page also promotes a soundbar bundle, but no particular soundbar has been evaluated.

Sony also lists an outside stand width of 49.44 inches and a 300 × 300 mm VESA pattern. An optional Sony wall-mount bracket is listed. Before mounting, check the bracket’s compatibility information, weight rating, and included hardware; the VESA pattern alone does not establish that a particular mount is suitable. Sony’s support page for the K-65XR30M2 provides support information and points to bracket compatibility details.

What is the difference between the BRAVIA 3 II and other 65-inch TVs?
The model’s published points of comparison are its LCD panel with Direct LED backlighting and frame dimming, native 120 Hz specification, four HDMI inputs with Sony-listed VRR and ALLM, Google TV features, and 300 × 300 mm VESA pattern. Those facts can help narrow a shortlist, but they cannot establish that this TV is brighter, has better contrast, or performs better in games than another 65-inch model. For a meaningful comparison, look for independent measurements of picture quality and input lag, confirm which ports support the modes you need, and compare stand dimensions, audio plans, operating-system features, and the current price on the same date.
Quick Recap
Who should consider it?
- Consider it if you want a 65-inch-class 4K Google TV and value Sony’s listed 120 Hz, VRR, ALLM, and four-HDMI configuration, subject to checking device and port requirements.
- Check before committing if picture performance, low gaming latency, built-in sound quality, or a feature such as Gemini is decisive; those outcomes are not established by the specification list, and Gemini has stated eligibility conditions.
- Plan the installation first if you need a specific stand footprint, wall bracket, legacy video input, or headphone connection.
