Sony lists support for PS5 Tempest 3D AudioTech and PC sound customization through INZONE Hub, including frequency EQ. Spatial audio support and EQ are distinct features: a claim about one does not establish that the other is available or adjustable on every platform. What are the main drawbacks?
Battery life falls when noise canceling is enabled
Sony’s headline maximum is up to 32 hours for game and chat with Bluetooth off and noise canceling and ambient mode off. In Sony’s H9/H7 Help Guide battery table, game and chat with noise canceling on and Bluetooth off is listed at up to 20 hours. The same table lists up to 15 hours for Bluetooth phone calls with noise canceling on, up to 16 hours for AAC music playback with noise canceling on, and up to 15 hours for SBC music playback with noise canceling on. These are manufacturer maximums under specified modes, not promises of typical runtime. Sony says a 10-minute charge provides about one hour of use.

PS5 EQ availability deserves a specific check
Sony documents EQ customization through INZONE Hub on PC and Tempest 3D AudioTech support on PS5. A Reddit user comparing the H9 with Sony’s Pulse 3D headset in 2022 said they could not adjust EQ on PS5. That is one dated user experience, not proof of a universal current limitation. If console EQ is essential, check the current console and headset options for your setup rather than assuming PC customization carries over.

Comfort, microphone performance, and fit are individual questions
In that same 2022 Reddit comparison, the owner described the H9 as slightly more comfortable than the Pulse 3D, found its noise canceling useful against an air conditioner, and said it could slide when looking down. The owner also preferred its sound. These comments offer a sense of possible trade-offs, not controlled testing or evidence that every user will have the same experience. The account does not establish microphone performance for conferencing.

Value depends on today’s price
The same comparison called the H9 more expensive, but it dates from 2022 and cannot establish current pricing or value. Check local listings and compare what the H9’s noise control, dual wireless connections, platform features, and battery behavior are worth to you at the price available where you live. Sony’s product pages do not settle that buying decision.
