Its defining trade-off is clear: it offers an open-back design and a light listed weight of about 199 g without the detachable microphone, but it does not offer wireless play. Sony lists U.S. compatibility through a 3.5 mm output or the included USB-C Audio Box, and a U.S. price of $199.99 on its product page. Whether it suits you depends chiefly on your room, connection needs, and interest in its USB-C-dependent audio features.
What kind of headset is the INZONE H6 Air?
Sony identifies the headset as the INZONE H6 Air, model MDR-G600; the U.S. product page uses the model code MDR-G600/B. It is a wired, open-back gaming headset, not a wireless model. Sony describes the open-back structure as reducing sound reflections inside the headphones to create a natural soundstage. That is the manufacturer’s design rationale, not an independently verified listening result.

Sony also says the driver design takes inspiration from its MDR-MV1 open-back studio-monitor headphones. That relationship is design context; it does not establish that the headsets use identical parts or sound alike.
How does it connect, and which devices work?
The H6 Air connects through a 3.5 mm analog cable or the supplied USB-C Audio Box. Sony lists PC, PS5, and other devices with a 3.5 mm output as compatible. The product is wired-only: Sony explicitly says it is not wireless, and its listed connection options do not include Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz wireless.

Sony associates 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming and the RPG/Adventure EQ profile with use through that box. Check that your setup has a usable connection for the option you intend to use, rather than assuming every feature works through every device or connection.
What do the open-back design and weight mean in practice?
Sony lists the headset at approximately 199 g without its detachable microphone and describes an adjustable headband. The published weight is a useful point of comparison, but it does not by itself establish how comfortable the headset will feel over a long session; fit depends on the listener and Sony’s page does not provide a long-session comfort test.

Open-back construction is the more consequential choice for a shared room. Sony’s description explains the intended sound presentation, but the cited product information does not provide measured isolation or sound leakage. If you need to keep game audio private, avoid disturbing people nearby, or block external noise, do not treat the H6 Air’s open-back design as isolation. Consider whether an open headset is appropriate for your room before buying.

360 Spatial Sound and the RPG/Adventure EQ
Sony lists 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming and an RPG/Adventure EQ profile for use with the supplied USB-C Audio Box. Sony says the EQ was developed with sound designers from PlayStation Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment. These are manufacturer-described features; the available product information does not establish their audible benefit through an independent listening comparison.

How does the microphone work?
The boom microphone detaches. Sony describes it as a cardioid microphone angled toward the mouth to focus on the speaker’s voice and reduce noise from the sides. Those are Sony’s design claims, not independent recording results. The official product information does not provide a microphone recording comparison or measured voice-quality result.

Is the Sony INZONE H6 Air worth considering?
The H6 Air is most relevant if you want a wired headset, can use an open-back design in your gaming space, and value the option of Sony’s USB-C Audio Box features. Its listed weight and detachable microphone may also matter to your setup, though neither settles comfort or voice quality for every user.
