The Sony BRAVIA 3 II is a 2026 4K HDR LED Google TV series available in seven US sizes, but independent testing in the cited review covers only the 65-inch K-65XR30M2. RTINGS found that sample better suited to daytime viewing than a dark room: it has a broad viewing angle and handles motion smoothly, but weak contrast, uneven blacks, and limited HDR impact hold it back. Size also affects the screen coating and may affect panel type, so the 65-inch results are not a guarantee for every model.
What the BRAVIA 3 II review says
RTINGS published its review on August 6, 2026, based on a TV it bought and tested: the 65-inch K-65XR30M2. It describes the BRAVIA 3 II as a mid-range 2026 model replacing the 2024 BRAVIA 3. Its performance findings below refer to that test sample, not a direct test of all seven sizes.

- Best fit: a room with some ambient light, provided it is not excessively bright, and seating where viewers benefit from a broad viewing angle.
- Main weakness: dark-room viewing. RTINGS reports low contrast and uneven blacks, which make the set a poor choice for viewers who prioritize deep, consistent black levels.
- Motion and games: RTINGS reports smooth motion and support for gaming at 4K/120 Hz. Sony lists Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, VRR, ALLM, and 4K/120fps among the series’ features; check the official specification sheet for the exact size you plan to buy.
- HDR: RTINGS found limited HDR impact on its sample, so do not choose it expecting especially striking highlights.
These are independent findings from RTINGS, not measurements by this publication. Read RTINGS’ BRAVIA 3 II review.
Size matters: panels and screen coating
RTINGS reports that only the 65- and 75-inch versions have a matte screen coating. It confirmed a VA panel in the 50-inch model and an IPS panel in its tested 65-inch sample. The panel type is unclear in that source for the 43-, 55-, 75-, 85-, and 100-inch versions. Do not infer one size’s panel characteristics from another.

| US model | Screen size | Panel information in RTINGS’ review | Coating information |
|---|---|---|---|
| K-43XR30M2 | 43 inches | Unclear | Matte coating not reported |
| K-50XR30M2 | 50 inches | VA | Matte coating not reported |
| K-55XR30M2 | 55 inches | Unclear | Matte coating not reported |
| K-65XR30M2 | 65 inches | IPS; this is the RTINGS test sample | Matte |
| K-75XR30M2 | 75 inches | Unclear | Matte |
| K-85XR30M2 | 85 inches | Unclear | Matte coating not reported |
| K-100XR30M2 | 100 inches | Unclear | Matte coating not reported |
RTINGS says it expects its test results to be mostly valid for other sizes, but the known panel and coating differences make that an extrapolation. In particular, the 65-inch review cannot establish the precise contrast, reflection handling, or overall performance of every size.
Which size should you choose?
Choose by room and seating first
Match the diagonal to your room and seating distance, then confirm the space and mounting plan using the specification sheet for that exact model. The available evidence does not establish that dimensions or weights are interchangeable across the series.
Consider the 65- or 75-inch version if reflections matter
Those are the only sizes for which RTINGS reports a matte coating. That distinction may matter in a room with reflections, but the review does not establish that the coating makes either size suitable for intense sunlight or that all other performance traits match the 65-inch test sample.

Do not treat the 50-inch panel as a proxy for other sizes
The 50-inch model has a confirmed VA panel in RTINGS’ size notes, while its tested 65-inch unit has an IPS panel. The review source does not establish panel types for the remaining sizes, so check for current size-specific information if panel technology is central to your decision.
Gaming and connections: verify the exact model
Sony’s US product page lists VRR, ALLM, and 4K/120fps in its product FAQ, alongside Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X. These are series-level claims from Sony, not independent confirmation of every feature on every size. Check the precise model’s official specifications before purchase, particularly if you need a specific HDMI input arrangement or gaming capability.
For the 43-inch K-43XR30M2, Sony’s support specification lists four HDMI inputs and VRR. It also lists a 200 × 200 mm VESA hole pattern. Those details are specific to the 43-inch model; verify the corresponding specifications for other sizes.

Price and availability

This is a dated, volatile listing snapshot for one size, not a current-price guarantee or a price for the other models. Check the live listing and compare local prices for your chosen size.
Sony’s US 50-inch product page describes the series as a 2026 4K HDR LED Google TV and identifies the page’s FAQ as generated on July 24, 2026. Check Sony’s US K-50XR30M2 listing.

How it compares with other TVs
RTINGS compares the BRAVIA 3 II with the BRAVIA 3, BRAVIA 2 II, BRAVIA 5, and other competitors. The useful decision is not simply which model is newer: compare the exact size and current local price, then weigh dark-room contrast and black uniformity against viewing angle and reflection handling. For HDR viewing, consider whether the set’s limited impact in RTINGS’ test meets your expectations. For gaming, confirm the desired features and connections in the exact model’s official specification.
Sony’s Hong Kong page covers regional BRAVIA 3 II models and features; those regional model names and specifications should not be assumed to match US K-series models. See Sony Hong Kong’s BRAVIA 3 II page.
