For example, additem 78 adds a log to your inventory, while spawnitem guitar creates a guitar in the game world.
The command reference and item table are build-dependent. Not every row is usable: some items are removed, disabled, restricted after collection, or listed without a working ID. The procedure below explains how to look up a current mapping, choose the right command, and diagnose failures without guessing.

What an item ID does
An item ID is the numeric value mapped to an internal item name in the game’s console data. The same item can usually be addressed in either form. A numeric command such as additem 78 and a name command such as additem log refer to the same log entry when that mapping exists in your installed build.
The command determines where the result goes:

These commands are separate operations. An item that is successfully added is not automatically spawned in front of you, and removing an item from inventory does not undo a world object that was already created.

Check your game build before looking up an ID
Item mappings can change with updates. A current-build cross-check identifies Steam build 20228174, but your installation may have a different build. Treat that number as a reference point, not as a guarantee that every older or newer list matches your game.
- Use the maintained item table as the primary lookup for the build you are running.
- Compare the table’s status for an entry: working, removed, disabled, restricted, or not working.
- Prefer the exact internal name shown in that table when a command behaves differently from the numeric form.
Do not assume that an ID found in an undated list is still valid. A command can be correctly typed and still fail because the mapping no longer exists in the installed build.
Open the console
The console is enabled from inside a loaded game. No text prompt appears when you enable it.
- Start a new game or load an existing save.
- While you are actively playing, type
cheatstickon the keyboard. You do not need to click a chat box or wait for a confirmation message. - Press
F1. The developer console should open. - Enter one complete command, including the command name and the ID or internal name separated by a space.
- Press Enter, then check the destination implied by the command: inventory for
additem, the world forspawnitem, or inventory removal forremoveitem.
If pressing F1 does nothing, return to the first step and make sure cheatstick was typed during gameplay rather than at a menu or loading screen. The console procedure depends on the game accepting that activation input.
Command syntax and examples
Replace the angle-bracketed argument with one value from the current item table. Do not type the brackets themselves.

Use one command per line. Keep the spelling of an internal name exactly as it appears in the maintained table; a display label such as “Night Vision Goggles” is not automatically the same as the internal key nightvisiongoggles.
Useful item IDs and internal names
The following entries are examples from the maintained mapping. They demonstrate the format and include several different categories; they are not a replacement for the complete, current table.

Category labels describe how the maintained list classifies each row. They do not promise that every command will work in every save or build. Check the row’s working or restriction marker before troubleshooting your syntax.
Adding an item directly to inventory
Use additem when your goal is to possess an item immediately rather than place a separate object in the environment.
- Find the row in the current item table. Record both the numeric ID and the internal name.
- Run the numeric form first when the row has a confirmed ID, such as
additem 341for binoculars. - If the numeric form is rejected or has no visible effect, run the name form exactly as listed, for example
additem binoculars. - Open your inventory and verify the result before trying a different command. This distinguishes a successful addition from a failed console entry.
Names are especially useful for entries whose row has no usable numeric ID. In that case, do not substitute a guessed number; use the documented internal name or treat the entry as unavailable.

Spawning an item into the world
spawnitem creates a world object, which is useful when you want to pick up or place the object in the environment. Use the same ID-or-name format, for example spawnitem 340 or spawnitem guitar.

A numeric ID may work with additem yet fail with spawnitem if the spawn mapping is missing, restricted, or different in your build.
- Confirm that the table marks the entry as spawnable and working.
- Try the exact internal name from the current row, preserving the spelling shown there.
- If the name also fails, compare your installed build with the table’s build information and check whether the game has an available update.
- Do not treat a successful inventory addition as proof that a world spawn is supported; the two commands use different paths.
Removing items from inventory
Use removeitem with the same ID-or-name syntax when you need to remove a specific item. For example, removeitem 78 and removeitem log target the log entry.
Removal targets inventory. It is not a cleanup command for objects already placed in the world by spawnitem. If you need to clear nearly all inventory at once, the reference also documents removeallitems, but it leaves documented exceptions. Review the exception list before relying on it for a completely empty inventory.
How to read the maintained item table
A long ID list is useful only when you interpret its status fields. For each candidate item, check four things:

- Numeric ID: the value accepted by commands that support that mapping.
- Internal name: the exact key to try when a numeric command fails or when the row has no usable ID.
- Command purpose: whether the row is documented for inventory addition, world spawning, removal, or more than one of these operations.
- Status: whether the row is working, removed, disabled, restricted after collection, or otherwise marked as not working.
Some entries have no usable ID and rely on a name. Others remain in a list for historical or reference purposes even though they cannot currently be spawned. Treat a status marker as an operational warning, not as an invitation to try every command variant.

Work through the failure that matches what you observe instead of changing several variables at once.
The console never opens
- Make sure
cheatstickwas entered while a game was loaded and you were controlling the character. - Press
F1only after that activation input. Typing the word at a title screen or loading screen does not follow the documented workflow. - Once the console appears, test with a documented example such as
additem 78so you are not debugging an unknown entry and the console at the same time.
The console accepts the line but nothing appears
- Check whether you used the command that matches your goal.
additemchanges inventory;spawnitemcreates a world object. - Verify the ID and internal name against the current table, including spelling and any status note.
- Try the alternate representation. If the ID form was used, try the exact internal name; if the name form was used and a confirmed ID exists, try the ID.
additem works but spawnitem fails
This pattern is specifically associated with the stricter spawn mapping. Use the current internal name, check the row’s spawn status, and compare the game’s build with the table. Do not infer that the item is universally spawnable from the inventory result alone.
An item was collected earlier and will not spawn again
The wiki documentation notes that some items cannot be spawned after they have been collected, including many weapons, tools, and outfits. Check the item’s restriction note before repeating the command. A failure in this situation can be an imposed item rule rather than a typing error.

The row is removed, disabled, or marked not working
Do not keep cycling through IDs for an entry that the table marks as removed, disabled, or not working. Those markers mean the mapping is not currently a reliable route to a usable object. Choose a row with a working status or wait until a later game update changes the mapping.
The item has no numeric ID
Some rows rely on an internal name. Use that name exactly if the row documents it as usable. A missing ID is not a license to invent a number based on nearby entries.
removeallitems does not produce an empty inventory
The documented command removes nearly all inventory but preserves exceptions. Consult the exception list and remove any remaining entries individually with removeitem if they have a working mapping.
Numeric IDs versus internal names
Numeric IDs are quick when you already know a confirmed mapping. Internal names are more readable and provide a fallback when a row has no usable ID or when spawnitem needs the exact name mapping.

Neither form bypasses a restriction. An exact name cannot revive a removed row, and a valid ID cannot make a non-spawnable item spawn.
A reliable workflow for several items
- Write down the items you actually need rather than copying an entire undated list.
- For each item, record the ID, internal name, category, and status from the maintained table.
- Confirm the build information for the table and your game. If they differ, expect mappings to need verification.
- Open the console with
cheatstickfollowed byF1. - Use
additemfor inventory supplies,spawnitemfor a physical world object, andremoveitemfor targeted cleanup. - Test one entry at a time. After each command, check the intended destination before moving to the next item.
- If a result differs from the table, retry with the alternate ID/name form and then investigate build or status notes.
- Record which form worked in your own notes for that build so you do not rely on memory after a game update.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using the display label as the command: the internal key may omit spaces, as with
nightvisiongogglesorshotgunrail. - Expecting an inventory command to create a world object: use
spawnitemwhen the object must appear in the environment. - Assuming every listed row works: removed, disabled, restricted, and not-working markers are part of the mapping.
- Copying an old numeric list without checking the build: updates can change the relationship between IDs and names.
- Trying
removeallitemsas a guaranteed reset: documented exceptions remain and may require individual removal. - Changing the ID and command simultaneously: test one variable at a time so you can identify whether the issue is the command, mapping, restriction, or build.

What to remember
The dependable process is short: activate the console with cheatstick, open it with F1, consult the maintained mapping for your build, and choose the command that matches the destination. Use IDs when the current row confirms them, use exact internal names as the fallback—especially for spawnitem—and treat status and restriction notes as part of the answer. When a command fails, verify the entry and build before assuming the console itself is broken.
