Does the Bose 600 or Sonos Beam have Dolby Atmos?
Both support Dolby Atmos. That capability does not guarantee Atmos for every program: the content must provide an Atmos soundtrack and the TV connection must support the required audio format. Bose specifies HDMI eARC or ARC for Atmos on the 600; its owner’s guide lists optical as an option when the TV lacks those ports, but not as the Atmos connection. Check your TV’s ports and audio-output settings before buying.

How their documented features differ
Sonos Beam (Gen 2): dialogue and night listening
Sonos’s Beam fact sheet says, “Speech Enhancement boosts voice frequencies and clarifies dialogue.” It also lists Night Sound, which adjusts loud sounds for quieter listening, and Trueplay room tuning. Trueplay requires a compatible iOS device. These are documented processing features, not proof that the Beam will sound better in a particular room.
Bose Smart Soundbar 600: drivers and TrueSpace
Bose describes the 600 as having five transducers, including two that fire upward and two that fire to the sides. Bose says its TrueSpace processing can create an immersive effect from stereo and 5.1 content. These are the manufacturer’s design and processing claims, not independent comparative listening results. Bose’s launch announcement quoted chief product officer Raza Haider calling it an “ideal solution” for listeners with limited equipment space; that is a product statement, not a measured result.

Check the TV stand and cabinet fit
The Beam is shorter in width and taller than the 600 according to the cited dimensions. The Bose is deeper. Measure the usable surface and the soundbar’s clearance from the TV screen, stand legs, wall and cabinet opening; a small height difference can matter if the bar blocks the picture or the TV’s remote sensor. Confirm the exact model dimensions with the listing before ordering, particularly for older Bose stock.
Which should you buy?
Choose the Beam (Gen 2) if
- You already use Sonos speakers or want the Sonos ecosystem.
- AirPlay 2, Speech Enhancement, Night Sound or Trueplay is a priority.
- You want to buy a currently listed Beam rather than track down a previous-generation product.
Consider the Bose 600 if
- You specifically want Bose’s documented up-firing and side-firing driver design and TrueSpace processing.
- You have verified the seller is offering the Smart Soundbar 600, not Bose’s newer Smart Soundbar.
- The available price and condition make sense against the newer Bose model and your preferred ecosystem.

Expansion and total system cost
Bose lists the Bass Module 500 as compatible with the Smart Soundbar 600. If you plan to add a subwoofer, compare the combined cost and current availability of the soundbar and compatible add-on, rather than deciding on the bar’s price alone. Confirm compatibility and availability with the seller or Bose before purchase.
