Buy the Standard Edition if you only want the base game. Choose Digital Deluxe when its price is lower than buying the base game and the original Season Pass separately. Treat Season Pass 2 as a separate purchase: it is not included with the original Digital Deluxe Edition. Your best value depends on your platform, country, and the crossover packs you actually want.
The three buying decisions
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds now has three separate decisions. First, select the base-game edition. Second, decide whether the original Season Pass is worth bundling with that game. Third, decide whether Season Pass 2 is worth adding. Keeping those choices separate prevents the most common mistake: assuming that the original Digital Deluxe Edition includes every future DLC release.

- Digital Deluxe Edition: the base game plus the original Season Pass, with Sonic Prime characters identified by SEGA as Nine, Rusty Rose, and Dread.
- Season Pass 2: a separately announced pass containing six newer collaboration packs.
If you already own the base game, do not buy another full edition. Compare the price of the relevant pass with the price of individual packs in your platform store.

Which edition should you buy?
| Edition or add-on | Includes | Best for | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | Base game | Players who want the core racing game and may choose DLC later | No Season Pass content |
| Digital Deluxe Edition | Base game and original Season Pass; SEGA’s descriptions also identify Nine, Rusty Rose, and Dread from Sonic Prime | New buyers who want the first wave of crossover content | Does not include Season Pass 2 |
| Original Season Pass | Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, PAC-MAN, Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar Legends packs, according to SEGA’s purchase guide | Owners of the base game who want the first pass without rebuying the game | Pack release status can vary by platform; check the live listing |
| Season Pass 2 | Godzilla, Evangelion, Virtual Sanrio Puroland, Sega Land, Final Fantasy VII Remake series, and Persona packs | Players specifically interested in the second set of collaborations | Separate from the original Digital Deluxe Edition |
| Switch 2 upgrade pass | Upgrade path for Nintendo Switch owners, where offered | Players moving from Nintendo Switch to Nintendo Switch 2 | Price and eligibility are market-specific |
Choose Standard when your DLC interest is uncertain
The Standard Edition is the low-risk option if you mainly want the base racing modes, are buying for a child or family member whose crossover preferences are unknown, or expect to wait for discounts. It is available physically and digitally on the platforms SEGA documents. You can add the original Season Pass or individual collaboration packs later rather than paying for content you may never use.

Choose Digital Deluxe for a first-pass bundle
Digital Deluxe is a bundle of the base game and the original Season Pass. It is not a bundle of every Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds add-on, and it is not Season Pass 2. Compare its current store price with the Standard Edition plus the original pass in your region; the cheaper route can change during sales.
Do not rebuy the game if you already own it
Existing owners should open the add-on section of their platform store and compare the original Season Pass, Season Pass 2, and individual packs. Buying Digital Deluxe after owning the base game can leave you paying for a second copy of the game, depending on how the store handles the bundle.
What is in the original Season Pass?
SEGA’s purchase guide lists six collaboration themes for the first pass: Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, PAC-MAN, Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar Legends. The same guide says the Season Pass and all collaboration DLC can be purchased separately. That means you can assemble a smaller collection if only one or two crossovers appeal to you.
Pass versus individual packs
Use the pass when the combined price is lower than buying the packs you expect to play, or when you want all six themes. Buy individual packs when your interest is narrow. Store pages can show different release timing, bundles, or platform availability, so verify the listing for your console or PC storefront before paying.

- New Dungeon Challenges – The 12 freshly uncovered Lost Rites dungeons house trials designed by the Pathfinder to sharpen the Arisen’s skills and recover rare equipment once held by past Arisen that now lay dormant.
- Deeper Character Customization – New tattoo and hair options have been added to the already robust character creation tool in Dragon’s Dogma 2 so Arisen and Pawns can have even deeper personalization.
- Now on Nintendo Switch 2 – Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen brings the classic fantasy world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 and the Dark Arisen Expansion to the Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time.
- Pre-order Bonuses – The Norgan Fashion Set - Northern Attire will be available as a pre-order bonus, which can be accessed via in-game storage at launch.
Do not assume that a pack announced for one platform is immediately available on every other platform. The official descriptions establish the content and purchase options, but they do not establish DLC entitlement transfer between platform families or accounts. If you change ecosystems, check the support page and the exact store listing rather than relying on an old purchase.
What Season Pass 2 adds
SEGA announced Season Pass 2 and the Season 2 Digital Deluxe Edition on October 10, 2026. The Japanese announcement names six packs:
- Godzilla
- Evangelion
- Virtual Sanrio Puroland
- Sega Land
- Final Fantasy VII Remake series
- Persona
The first Godzilla pack was scheduled for November 4, 2026, with the other content to be distributed sequentially from that date. That announcement is a dated rollout plan, not confirmation that every pack was already playable on October 13, 2026. Check the live platform page for release status before buying for immediate access.
Is Season Pass 2 included in Digital Deluxe?
No. The original Digital Deluxe Edition contains the base game and original Season Pass. Season Pass 2 is a separate paid pass, and the Season 2 Digital Deluxe Edition is a separate bundle. If a store displays both deluxe products, read the included-content list carefully before checkout.

Japan prices announced for October 10, 2026
SEGA’s Japanese price table dated October 10, 2026 gives the following digital prices. These figures are Japanese yen for the Japan market; they are not universal prices and should not be converted into a worldwide recommendation.
| Japan digital product | Price stated by SEGA |
|---|---|
| Base game | ¥4,990 |
| Original Digital Deluxe Edition | ¥5,990 |
| Original Season Pass | ¥2,990 |
| Individual collaboration pack | ¥660 each |
| Season Pass 2 | ¥2,990 |
| Season 2 Digital Deluxe Edition | ¥5,990 |
| Nintendo Switch to Switch 2 upgrade pass | ¥100 |
In that Japanese table, the ¥5,990 original Digital Deluxe price is ¥1,000 above the ¥4,990 base-game price, while the original pass is listed at ¥2,990. Those numbers illustrate why a bundle can be attractive to a new buyer, but they do not predict pricing in North America, Europe, or other regions. Use your local store’s checkout total for the actual decision.
Does buying both passes unlock Super Shadow?
SEGA’s October 10 announcement says owners of both Season Pass 1 and Season Pass 2 receive Super Shadow, the Super Dark Flare machine, and a Super Shadow sticker as a purchase bonus. Buying individual DLC packs does not qualify for that reward. The announcement also says the reward becomes available after a November 4 patch and that Super Shadow can be used only in Grand Prix mode.

Platforms, release dates, and Switch 2
SEGA documents Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The initial release date was September 25, 2025 on consoles and September 26, 2025 on PC.
Switch 2 upgrade
SEGA’s launch information says Nintendo Switch players can upgrade by purchasing an upgrade pack. The later Japanese price table lists that upgrade pass at ¥100 in Japan. Treat the amount as Japan-specific; your region’s store may show a different price, tax treatment, or product structure. Open the Switch 2 listing while signed into the account that owns the Switch version and confirm exactly what the upgrade grants.
Early access is not a current buying reason by itself
The launch purchase guide described up to 72 hours of early access with Digital Deluxe, explicitly excluding Nintendo Switch versions. That was a launch-period benefit. Unless the current store page still advertises it for your platform, do not assign present-day value to early access.

Japan-only physical bundle with a SONIC EXPRESS plush
SEGA announced an Amazon.co.jp limited bundle pairing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds with a SONIC EXPRESS courier plush and three stickers. Four variants were planned to roll out sequentially. Two game-and-plush versions were announced for reservation on October 10, 2026; two versions including a Season Pass 2 download code were planned for later reservations. SEGA said the game and pass code could arrive before the plush.
This is a Japan-only collectible route, not a replacement for the ordinary platform-specific game listing. Reservation timing, stock, regional shipping, and the current bonus terms were not confirmed in the announcement. If you shop on Amazon.co.jp, search for the exact phrase Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and narrow by console and edition, such as “Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.” Confirm the language, region, included code, and delivery schedule before ordering.
A practical buying checklist
- Identify your platform and region. Prices, upgrade products, release timing, and physical inventory can differ.
- Check whether you already own the base game. Owners should compare add-ons, not rebuy a deluxe bundle containing the same game.
- List the collaborations you actually want. Separate the six original-pass themes from the six Season Pass 2 themes.
- Compare local totals. Check Standard plus pass, Digital Deluxe, and individual packs in the same store and currency.
- Decide whether Super Shadow matters. The announced reward requires both passes, excludes individual-pack purchases, arrives after the November 4 patch, and is limited to Grand Prix mode.
- Verify availability. A scheduled pack may not yet be downloadable, and DLC transfer between platform families is not established by the official information cited here.
- Update the game before playing online or accessing DLC.
Bottom line for common buyers
New player who wants only racing
Buy Standard. Add nothing until you know which crossover content you will use.

New player who wants the first six collaborations
Compare Digital Deluxe with Standard plus the original Season Pass. Digital Deluxe is the intended first-pass bundle, but the cheaper option depends on your current store price.
Existing player interested in one crossover
Buy that individual pack if available. SEGA says collaboration DLC can be purchased separately, so a full pass is not mandatory.
Collector who wants the announced second wave
Compare Season Pass 2 with the Season 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, remembering that neither is included in the original Digital Deluxe product.
Player seeking the announced Super Shadow bonus
Plan on owning both Season Pass 1 and Season Pass 2; individual packs do not satisfy the stated condition. Recheck the reward after the November 4 patch.
