How to choose the right deal
- Pick the kind of driving you want. Open-world or mainstream racing, stock cars, rally, circuit simulation and truck driving offer different experiences. A low price matters less if the game’s discipline is not your thing.
- Compare the edition, not just the headline price. Check whether you are looking at the base game, a special edition, a season pass or individual DLC, and what each listing includes.
- Consider how you will play. If you are looking for simulation-focused driving, decide whether you plan to use a PC racing wheel; the sale coverage does not establish a universal wheel requirement or recommend a particular model.
- Use the discount as a price cue, not a quality score. A 90% discount does not make a game automatically better value for you than a smaller discount on a title you are more likely to play.
For context, PC Gamer reported on October 1, 2026, that SteamDB counted 44,048 games available for less than $5 across Steam. That is a platform-wide count, not a count of racing games, and a low price alone does not guarantee a top-tier game. PC Gamer’s coverage makes that distinction.
