There is no clean winner yet. In the most direct published comparison, the Snapdragon chip leads in single-core CPU and in the AnTuTu total, while the Dimensity chip leads in multi-core CPU and in the AnTuTu GPU sub-score. The numbers below come from published phone-level tests and from leaked or claimed figures. They are not chip-only lab measurements, and we haven’t independently reproduced them.
The short answer: it depends on the workload
Gizmochina’s comparison, published October 6, 2026, tested the Snapdragon chip in a Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and the Dimensity chip in a Vivo X500 Pro Max. Because the phones differ, each score mixes chip behavior with that phone’s cooling, firmware and power tuning. Read the results as “how these two handsets scored”, not “how these two chips rank everywhere”.

- Snapdragon ahead: Geekbench 7 single-core (by a wide margin) and the AnTuTu total.
- Dimensity ahead: Geekbench 7 multi-core and the AnTuTu GPU sub-score.
Reported benchmark results
Gizmochina’s test-phone results (2026)
| Test | Snapdragon (Xiaomi 18 Pro Max) | Dimensity (Vivo X500 Pro Max) | Gap (our arithmetic) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Geekbench 7 single-core | 3,163 | 2,600 | Snapdragon +563 (about 22%) |
| Geekbench 7 multi-core | 10,172 | 10,634 | Dimensity +462 (about 4.5%) |
| AnTuTu total | 4,592,331 | 4,324,196 | Snapdragon +268,135 (about 6%) |
| AnTuTu GPU | 1,762,900 | 1,858,369 | Dimensity +95,469 (about 5%) |
The single-core gap is the largest difference in the set. It suggests snappier app launches and UI responsiveness for the Snapdragon phone. The multi-core and GPU gaps are small enough that phone-to-phone variation, such as thermal throttling or a different performance mode, could plausibly account for them. That is our reading, not a claim made by the source.

| Geekbench 6 | Snapdragon (leaked) | Dimensity (claimed) | Gap (our arithmetic) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single-core | 4,327 | 4,276 | Snapdragon +51 (about 1%) |
| Multi-core | 12,873 | 12,650 | Snapdragon +223 (about 2%) |
Don’t mix these with the Geekbench 7 numbers. The two versions use different scoring scales, so the figures can’t be compared across tables. Within the Geekbench 6 pair, the margins are tiny, and the figures come from unverified sources. Note also that this pair shows a Snapdragon multi-core lead, while Gizmochina’s Geekbench 7 tests show a Dimensity lead. That mismatch is a good reason not to trust any single multi-core result.
Reported specifications
These specs come from Gizmochina and Beebom, which report broadly the same configurations. We haven’t checked them against official Qualcomm or MediaTek product briefs, so treat them as source-reported rather than manufacturer-confirmed.

| GPU | Adreno 850, with AI-related GPU features | Arm Mali G2-Ultra NX |
The design philosophies differ. The Snapdragon uses fewer, faster cores, which fits its single-core lead. The Dimensity spreads performance across more high-clocked cores, which fits its multi-core strength. The sources also describe differences in AI processing, camera and video pipelines, memory and storage support, and connectivity. We haven’t verified those against primary documentation, so we don’t list them as firm specifications. Even confirmed chip features may not be enabled in every phone, because manufacturers choose their own RAM, storage, modems and camera hardware.

- Sustained performance. Short benchmark runs show peak speed. Android Central notes that thermal behavior is still to be observed for the new Snapdragon generation, and the same applies to the Dimensity.
- Phone design. Vapor chambers, chassis size and default power mode can shift scores more than the gap between these chips.
- Data provenance. A leaked score, a vendor claim and a publication’s own test carry different weight.
- Version and variant. Check the benchmark version, the exact phone model, the regional chip variant and the firmware build.
- Controlled testing. We found no independently replicated, same-condition head-to-head on identical hardware, which would be the real test.
How to choose between phones using these chips
- Decide what you do most. Everyday responsiveness leans on single-core speed, where the Snapdragon test phone led. Heavy multitasking and some GPU-heavy gaming are where the Dimensity test phone scored higher.
- Look for sustained tests. Prefer reviews showing repeated runs, stress-test stability curves and surface temperatures over one peak score.
- Check battery behavior. Efficiency under real use, such as gaming, video and camera, matters more than a benchmark total.
- Confirm software support. Compare the promised update period and the quality of the maker’s skin.
- Verify your region’s variant and price. Chip, RAM, storage and connectivity options can differ by market.
On the available evidence, the two are close enough that the phone around the chip will probably decide your experience more than the chip’s name. Wait for retail-unit reviews on identical test setups before treating either as the faster platform.
