But available evidence does not establish a reliable benchmark winner over Snapdragon 4 Gen 4: Qualcomm’s performance percentages compare the 6 Gen 3 with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, not the 4 Gen 4, and no controlled phone-to-phone test of these two chips is established here.

Both are described as 4 nm platforms, but that shared process label alone does not establish equal power use or performance.

Which chip is faster?
Qualcomm lists a maximum CPU clock of 2.4 GHz for Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and 2.3 GHz for Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. That small difference is not a direct speed ratio. Chip design, cooling, firmware and the power a particular phone sustains can all affect results, so maximum clock alone cannot tell you how quickly a phone will perform over a long workload.

What Qualcomm’s performance claims mean
Qualcomm claims that Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 delivers up to 10% better CPU performance, over 30% improved Adreno GPU performance and over 20% better AI performance in comparison with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. Those are vendor claims with a 6 Gen 1 baseline—not measurements against Snapdragon 4 Gen 4.

Why a benchmark ranking is not established
A sound head-to-head result would require representative phones tested with the same benchmark version, comparable settings and thermal conditions, with enough samples to show variation. No such matched comparison is established here. The available NanoReview Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 listing reports Geekbench 6 results from fewer than three samples and a limited set of devices; it does not provide a controlled paired test against Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. Treat it as a weak reference, not a definitive ranking.
Where Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 has a published advantage
- Wi-Fi capability: Qualcomm lists Wi-Fi 6 and 6E support for Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, compared with Wi-Fi 5 for Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. Check the exact handset specification and regional approvals rather than assuming every phone implements the platform’s full capability.
- Published peak 5G download figure: Qualcomm lists up to 2.9 Gbps for Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and up to 2.5 Gbps for Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. These are vendor maxima, not expected everyday speeds; service depends on the phone’s modem configuration, carrier, spectrum and location.
- Imaging flexibility on paper: Qualcomm describes three-camera simultaneous capture and 200 MP single-shot support for the 6 Gen 3 platform. The 4 Gen 4 page describes 36 MP capture and multi-frame noise reduction. These platform capabilities do not determine finished-camera quality: sensors, optics and manufacturer image processing matter.
What to compare when choosing a phone
Choose between actual handset models, not chipset names in isolation. Manufacturers configure phones differently, and retail availability, prices and variants change by market. Compare the specific model and regional version on these points:
Rank #2
- Carrier: This phone is locked to Tracfone, which means this device can only be used on the Tracfone wireless network. Tracfone plan required, activating is easy, just 3 steps.
- DISPLAY: Immersive viewing on a 6.7-inch super-bright 120Hz display with powerful stereo speakers and Bass Boost for cinematic entertainment.
- CAMERA SYSTEM: Advanced 50MP Quad Pixel camera captures sharp, detailed photos and videos in any lighting condition
- PERFORMANCE: Lightning-fast 5G connectivity paired with a powerful processor and RAM Boost for smooth multitasking.
- BATTERY LIFE: Long-lasting 5000mAh battery with TurboPower charging technology delivers hours of power in minutes.
- Configuration: Check RAM and storage for the exact model. Qualcomm’s reviewed 6 Gen 3 specification does not state a memory type, so do not infer a handset’s RAM speed from the chipset name.
- Performance under load: Prefer matched tests of the phones you are considering, with the benchmark version, software and test conditions identified. Sustained behavior can differ from a short peak result.
- Display and battery: Compare resolution, refresh rate and tested battery life, as well as charging actually implemented in the phone.
- Cameras: Compare the camera hardware and sample results for the handset, not megapixel support alone.
- Connectivity: Verify supported network bands, the phone’s Wi-Fi implementation and SIM configuration for your carrier and region.
- Ownership factors: Check software-update policy, local availability and price for the exact market variant.
Bottom line on the specification comparison
Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is the more feature-rich platform on the published specifications reviewed here, notably for Wi-Fi capability and its listed peak 5G download rate. The specifications do not prove a particular real-world performance gap over Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, and a controlled benchmark comparison is not established. Pick the handset with the better overall configuration and verified testing for your needs, rather than treating the processor label as the whole decision.
