What the Smeg FAB32RPG5AU offers
This is a right-hand-hinge refrigerator from Smeg’s 50’s-style range, finished in pastel green. Smeg lists 331 L total capacity: 234 L for fresh food and 97 L for frozen food. That split gives the refrigerator more room than the freezer, so consider your frozen-food habits as well as the headline capacity.

The available energy figures do not agree. Smeg Australia’s current exact-model page, accessed in 2026, lists 204 kWh per year and energy class D. CHOICE’s model page lists 298 kWh per year and a 4-star rating, with 2023 shown as the test year. An older Smeg FAB32 family specification PDF, published about 2021, also gives 298 kWh per year and 4 stars. Smeg’s product information sheet for the adjacent FAB32RCR5AU color variant reports 204 kWh per year and class D, but it is not the exact pastel-green SKU.

The available information does not establish whether the difference reflects a label or model revision, or conflicting publication data. Before estimating running costs, read the energy label attached to the exact unit being sold and use that figure with your electricity tariff. A cost estimate based on either published figure alone could be misleading.
What do independent reviews establish?
CHOICE has a model-specific page and identifies 2023 as the test year. Its publicly visible page includes claimed volume and energy information, but the expert rating, detailed results and good/bad points are behind membership access. The public information therefore does not support a conclusion that CHOICE recommends or criticizes this refrigerator.

Confirm the warranty for the unit you buy
CHOICE’s public record lists a two-year warranty. An older Smeg FAB32 family PDF says five years of parts and labour. Those terms differ, and the older family document does not establish the warranty for a current exact-SKU purchase. Ask the seller to confirm the warranty applying to the specific unit and sales conditions before ordering.
