The Smeg DWA6315W is a 60 cm freestanding dishwasher documented in an older Smeg Australia catalogue, with 15 place settings and a range of standard and quick programs. Its published figures can help assess fit and capacity, but they are historical manufacturer specifications—not independent test results. Smeg’s currently surfaced Australian product page is for the related DWA6315X3, not the exact W model, so confirm the suffix, condition, availability, warranty and parts support before buying.
What the DWA6315W is—and what this review can establish
Smeg Australia’s historical Collection Volume 24 catalogue describes the DWA6315W as a white, 60 cm-wide freestanding dishwasher. The catalogue lists its features and resource figures, but those specifications do not establish how well a particular unit cleans, dries or performs today. No independent test result for the exact DWA6315W is established here.

The distinction matters because the currently surfaced official Smeg Australia page is for the DWA6315X3, a related model with a different suffix. Its specifications cannot automatically be assigned to the W model. Check the rating plate and the documentation for the exact unit you are considering. The historical catalogue gives the DWA6315W dimensions as 598 mm wide × 600 mm deep × 850 mm high, also rounded to 60 × 60 × 85 cm. Treat these as catalogue dimensions, not a substitute for checking your installation space. Measure the opening and account for the route through doorways, clearance and the connections required by the actual appliance.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The W model is identified as freestanding. Do not confuse it with the CHOICE listing for DWAU6315W: that is a different model identified as built-in and does not establish test results for the DWA6315W.
Capacity, baskets and programs
Smeg’s historical catalogue rates the DWA6315W for 15 place settings. It describes a top cutlery tray, an adjustable middle basket and folding tines in the lower basket. Those details suggest a layout that can be rearranged for different loads, but the place-setting figure alone cannot tell you whether the racks suit your dishes, cookware or usual loading habits.

The catalogue lists five main programs plus five quick programs, with program temperatures of 38°, 45°, 50°, 65° and 70°C. Named programs include a 27-minute rapid cycle, soak, regular and Normal ECO. The catalogue does not establish the cleaning results or real-world duration of each program on a used appliance.
Energy, water and noise: read the figures carefully
The older catalogue reports 243 kWh/year and 9.7 litres of water use for the DWA6315W. These are manufacturer catalogue claims; the source does not establish how the energy figure was calculated or how its labeling method compares with modern test labels. Do not treat the figures as a current independent measurement.

The current DWA6315X3 page lists 49 dB(A), 0.8 kWh per cycle, 9.9 L per cycle and a 220-minute Normal ECO reference program. Those figures belong to the X3, not the W. The W catalogue’s 9.7-litre figure and the X3 page’s 9.9-litre figure should not be compared as though they were measured for the same model under the same protocol. The W-model catalogue information does not establish a noise rating or a matching cycle-by-cycle energy figure. Smeg Australia’s DWA6315X3 specifications
What the listed features do—and do not—prove
The W-model catalogue names Orbital Wash, Active Aquastop, five-stage filtration and SmartDry (Enersave). These are Smeg’s listed features, not independent evidence of superior cleaning, guaranteed leak prevention or better drying. The exact-model material available here does not verify how these systems perform in practice or whether an older unit’s components remain in good condition.

The related X3 page describes additional features including AquaTest turbidity sensing, Total Acquastop, a half-load FlexiZone, delay start up to 24 hours, and natural condenser drying with automatic door opening. Because the suffixes and generations differ, do not assume the DWA6315W has these features without checking its own manual or rating-plate documentation.

- Confirm the model. Read the rating plate and verify that it says DWA6315W, not DWA6315X3 or another similar model. Ask for a clear photograph if buying remotely.
- Check installation fit. Compare the actual kitchen opening and clearances with the catalogue dimensions of 598 × 600 × 850 mm. Verify the connection and delivery requirements with the seller.
- Inspect the exact unit. For a used appliance, ask for a demonstration and check that the racks, cutlery tray, controls, door and seals are present and working. Catalogue specifications cannot establish the condition of a particular machine.
- Get purchase terms in writing. Confirm price, condition, warranty coverage and return arrangements. The historical W-model catalogue does not establish current stock, price or warranty.
- Check support before committing. Ask Smeg or the seller whether parts and service are available for the exact W-model suffix in your location. Smeg Australia’s site provides service and spare-parts contact routes, but their existence does not confirm that DWA6315W-specific parts are available. Verdict: who should consider it?
The DWA6315W is worth considering only if you can verify the exact model, physical fit and condition, and are comfortable making a decision from historical manufacturer specifications rather than a verified independent test. Its documented 15-place capacity, adjustable basket arrangement and listed program range may suit a household seeking a conventional freestanding dishwasher. If noise, current efficiency, drying performance or dependable parts access are decisive, obtain confirmed information for the exact unit before comparing it with current alternatives.
