Rob Clymo’s long-distance drive left him impressed by the Skoda Peaq’s quiet motorway manners, comfortable ride and agile steering—but with an important qualification: he found it most convincing as a five-seater. His third-row passengers would have less room for a long trip. His account is a reviewer’s road-test impression, not an independent standardized range test.
How did the Skoda Peaq feel on a long drive?
In his 4 October 2026 road test for Stuff, Rob Clymo praised the Peaq’s comfort and refinement on the motorway. He reported minimal wind and tyre noise, a comfortable default ride and steering that made the large SUV feel agile during manoeuvres. Those are his impressions from the drive, rather than results from a controlled comparison.

Clymo found the standard rear-wheel-drive model adequate for his needs. He said the all-wheel-drive 90X adds grip, a consideration for drivers who value traction, but did not describe it as necessary for ordinary motorway travel.
What range can you expect from a Peaq?
Range depends on variant and market, so the figures should not be treated as interchangeable. In the UK review, Clymo cited 395 miles for the 90 and 373 miles for the 90X. He considered approaching those figures achievable, while reporting just over 3 miles per kWh during punchier driving. That is the reviewer’s assessment, not a standardized independent test result.

Škoda’s current Peaq FAQ lists claimed ranges of more than 640 km for the 90, more than 610 km for the 90x and more than 450 km for the 60. Škoda UK’s model page advertises up to 395 miles WLTP combined for its market and configuration. Check the figures for the specific market and variant when comparing cars.
How to interpret the 936 km record
Škoda reported a 936 km single-charge record drive in September 2026 using a production Peaq 90 with a 91 kWh gross, 86 kWh net battery. The supervised run averaged 9.2 kWh/100 km and used a selected route and driving style intended to maximize range; it is not a realistic everyday range forecast. The company’s release says, “In everyday use, customers are unlikely to drive the car this way.” Its stated homologated WLTP range for the Peaq 90 is up to 647 km. Škoda’s record-drive release explains the conditions.
Is the third row comfortable enough for long journeys?
The Peaq comes as a five- or seven-seater, but Clymo’s principal reservation was the third row: he found it confined for longer trips. His verdict is that the car works especially well as a five-seater, or for households that need extra seats occasionally rather than routinely taking seven people on long journeys.
Boot capacity also depends on the seating arrangement. Škoda’s FAQ gives 299 litres with all seven seats occupied, up to 890 litres with the third row folded, and 935 litres for the five-seat configuration. If your usual trip includes seven people and their luggage, the space available behind the occupied third row is an important practical constraint.

Škoda’s FAQ lists three variants and their gross battery capacities, claimed ranges and 10–80% DC charging times. The FAQ’s figures are manufacturer claims; market, trim and configuration can affect what is offered.
| Variant | Gross battery capacity | Škoda FAQ claimed range | FAQ DC charge time, 10–80% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 60 | 63 kWh | More than 450 km | 27 minutes |
| 90 | 91 kWh | More than 640 km | 28 minutes |
| 90x | 91 kWh | More than 610 km | 28 minutes |
For long-distance driving, the 90’s greater stated range may suit drivers who prioritize fewer charging stops. The 90x pairs the larger battery with all-wheel drive; Clymo’s review describes its extra grip, while its cited range is lower than the 90’s. The 60 is the smaller-battery option. These manufacturer figures are not a prediction of the range any driver will achieve in particular weather, at a particular speed or with a particular load.
Is the Peaq the right seven-seater for your trips?
Clymo says the Kia EV9 may suit people who regularly use all seven seats better, while the Peaq is appealing for occasional multi-passenger use. That is his judgment, not the result of a head-to-head test. For a family choosing between large electric SUVs, the useful questions are how often the third row will be occupied, how long those passengers will ride, and how much luggage must fit behind them.

Škoda also describes a Relax Package with AGR-certified ergonomic seats, massage and leg rests, plus ventilation in Suite interiors and a Sonos sound system. Availability depends on market, trim and configuration, so check the specification of the car being considered rather than assuming these features are standard.
