Skechers’ Where’s My Skechers children’s shoes have a small compartment beneath the heel of the insole for a separately purchased locator tag. Skechers explicitly lists Apple AirTag compatibility for its S-Lights: Kinetic-Lights model, but the AirTag and the screwdriver needed to open the compartment are not included. The shoes are not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.
How the hidden AirTag compartment works
The compartment sits under the heel of the insole and has a screw-tight cover. It is designed to conceal a locator tag inside the shoe; it is not a tracker built into the footwear. For the Kinetic-Lights listing, Skechers specifically says the compartment is compatible with Apple AirTag and notes that neither the tag nor the screwdriver is included. Check the product listing for the exact model you are considering rather than assuming every shoe in the collection has the same stated compatibility.

Which Skechers kids’ models have a locator-tag compartment?
Skechers’ US listings identify at least two examples in the Where’s My Skechers range. Their stated shoe features differ, so compare the model details, size and fit for the child rather than treating them as interchangeable.

What to check before buying
- Confirm the model: Look for “Where’s My Skechers” and verify that the specific product page describes the compartment and, if needed, names AirTag compatibility.
- Budget for the tag separately: The Kinetic-Lights listing says the AirTag is not included. The compartment’s screw-tight cover also requires a screwdriver, which the listing says is not included.
- Choose based on the shoe: Compare closure, upper, outsole, care instructions and available size information for the exact version. The locator compartment does not determine fit.
- Check current regional details: Product names, sizes, stock and listings can vary by market. Skechers’ UK collection page is a separate regional listing; confirm the details shown for your country and the exact shoe.
What the compartment does not guarantee
A concealed place for a locator tag is not a guarantee that a child can be tracked continuously, that a location will update at a particular speed, or that the shoe and tag will work in every setting. The cited Skechers product descriptions do not establish tracking range or update performance, waterproofing of the complete shoe-and-tag setup, or a safety benefit. Treat the shoe as footwear with a tag compartment, not as a substitute for supervision or a dedicated safety service.
