Novig is a sports prediction market, not a casino or a conventional sportsbook. It offers real-money event contracts whose prices move as users trade. No Novig “sister casinos” or shared-ownership brands are established by the available sources, so the useful comparison is between Novig’s contract model, other event-contract platforms, and conventional sportsbooks.
What is Novig?
Novig describes itself as a CFTC-regulated prediction market for sports. Users buy and sell contracts tied to sporting outcomes. Unlike a bookmaker setting odds, Novig says its contract prices reflect the market’s live estimate of an outcome. The company says its product is not a sportsbook. Novig’s product overview explains the distinction.

How Novig contracts work
According to Novig, contract prices move between $0 and $1 as users trade. A winning contract pays $1 at settlement and a losing one pays $0. A user may also sell a contract before the event settles. The price is market-driven; it does not guarantee a better price, lower costs, or a profit.

The sources available do not establish that Novig owns, operates, or shares ownership with any casinos. “Sister casino” is therefore not a verified category for Novig. If you are looking for similar services, compare platforms by product type instead: event-contract markets are closer to Novig’s model, while sportsbooks use bookmaker-set odds.

What are the alternatives to Novig?
Other event-contract platforms
Kalshi is often discussed in the wider debate about event contracts, but the available material does not establish its current sports markets or location eligibility. Check its official product and eligibility information before treating it as a direct Novig alternative. The U.S. Senate’s 2026 hearing document reflects an ongoing policy dispute over sports event contracts, not a final ruling covering every platform or location: Senate hearing document.
Conventional sportsbooks
DraftKings is an example of a conventional sportsbook, but access depends on jurisdiction. Its help center instructs users to check where its sportsbook is available: DraftKings Sportsbook availability. The cited page does not provide a complete current state list, so confirm availability directly. The evidence here does not verify FanDuel’s current availability, either.

How to compare Novig with an alternative
These services are not interchangeable. Before opening an account, compare the following points on each platform’s current official pages:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Product model: Novig describes market-priced event contracts; a conventional sportsbook offers bookmaker-set odds.
- Location eligibility: Confirm that the service is available where you are physically located. An account or a broad launch announcement does not guarantee access in every state.
- Age and identity checks: Check minimum-age rules and whether identity verification is required.
- Markets and settlement: Review the events offered, what outcome each contract represents, and how and when it settles.
- Costs: Read current terms for fees and other charges. The available Novig material does not establish that its costs are lower than those of a sportsbook or another platform.
Is Novig available in my state?
Novig’s current eligibility material says users must be at least 21, pass identity verification, and be physically located in an eligible place. It lists Arizona, Nevada, and Michigan as excluded. Check Novig’s eligibility and legality information before relying on that list, because location restrictions and service terms can change.

Novig announced a nationwide launch on August 4, 2026, after receiving CFTC Designated Contract Market designation. “Nationwide” should be read alongside the exclusions on its eligibility page: the launch announcement does not mean the service is available in every state. Novig also said in that announcement that cumulative trading volume had exceeded $6 billion; that is a company-reported figure, not an independently verified statistic. Novig frames its event contracts as operating under federal commodities law and its Designated Contract Market status, rather than the state-by-state licensing model used by traditional sportsbooks. That is the company’s description of its regulatory framework, not a universal resolution of legal disputes about sports event contracts. The 2026 Senate hearing document shows the issue remains under discussion. Check the platform’s current rules and the applicable local requirements rather than assuming that one platform’s status applies to another.
