Apple also announced a dedicated Siri app for starting or revisiting conversations, with conversation history syncing privately through iCloud. That announcement concerns Apple’s supported devices; it does not establish which functions, if any, will be available on a future home display.
Why Siri could matter on a home display
A screen-equipped hub could give Siri a fixed place in the home rather than making it primarily an assistant summoned on a personal device. If Apple brings the announced capabilities to such a device, personal-context requests and actions across apps could make voice control more useful, while a screen could present answers or information visually. Those are possibilities suggested by the reported product concept—not confirmed features or a demonstration of how Siri AI will work in a home setting.

What reporting says Apple may announce
On September 30, 2026, 9to5Mac relayed Bloomberg reporting that Apple plans to announce a smart-home push on October 13. It described a display-equipped hub referred to as “HomePad,” a HomePod mini update and a new Apple TV 4K. The report attributes a 6-inch screen, speaker functionality and a new operating system drawing on iOS, tvOS and watchOS to the hub, with Siri AI central to the concept. This idea fits earlier reporting, but that reporting is not confirmation that the devices will ship. Bloomberg reported in August 2025 that Apple was planning a display-equipped smart speaker as part of a wider AI and smart-home roadmap that also included home-security cameras and a tabletop robot. Siri AI’s stated beta timing and availability limits
Apple said Siri AI would be available as a beta later in 2026, initially for users with a supported device set to English.
