Singapore-headquartered Energy Capital Global has proposed a ₹41,750-crore, 100 MW AI-ready data-centre campus in Chhattisgarh. The company announced the proposal at the inaugural Singapore-India Network for Growth (SING) Forum in Singapore on 5 October 2026. The widely reported ₹43,000-crore figure refers more closely to the forum-day total for the state, which also included a separate green-energy proposal; it is not the campus proposal’s stated value.

What Energy Capital Global has proposed

The announcement names Energy Capital Global Pte Ltd, a Singapore-headquartered company, as the project proponent. The proposed campus is described as 100 MW and AI-ready, with a stated investment of ₹41,750 crore. The company and state presented it as an investment proposal, not as money already spent or a facility already under construction.

The proposal was announced at the inaugural SING Forum, organised by the Singapore Business Federation and held in Singapore on 5 October 2026. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended and presented an invitation to invest. That invitation and the announcement do not, on their own, confirm financing, construction contracts or a finalized project schedule.

Why reports use different investment totals

The figures refer to different scopes and should not be treated as revisions to the data-centre project’s price.

Figure What it covers Context
₹41,750 crore The proposed Energy Capital Global data-centre campus Specific campus proposal announced at the SING Forum on 5 October 2026.
₹43,250 crore Chhattisgarh’s reported total of forum-day proposals and commitments Includes the ₹41,750-crore data-centre proposal and a separate ₹1,500-crore green-energy proposal.
₹43,600 crore Aggregate commitments reported from the chief minister’s full Singapore visit A 7 October report included additional proposals and partnerships beyond the forum-day announcement.

The title’s rounded ₹43,000-crore amount aligns with the broader forum-day total, while the campus itself was announced at ₹41,750 crore. The later ₹43,600-crore figure covers a wider visit and does not show that the data-centre proposal increased in value.

What the proposed campus is—and is not—known to include

Disclosed features

  • Capacity: 100 MW, as announced on 5 October 2026.
  • Intended use: Described as AI-ready.
  • Clean power: Clean-power solutions were described as a feature of the proposal.
  • Training: The announcement refers to training opportunities for engineers from Chhattisgarh.

These are announced proposal features, not evidence that power arrangements or training programs have been delivered. No district or precise project site is identified in the available reporting.

Company’s description of the project

Energy Capital Global CEO Stanislav Borisov said the company saw Chhattisgarh as having the power, land and political will required for AI infrastructure, and described the announcement as the start of a long-term partnership. He said the company looked forward to building what he called the largest AI-ready data-centre campus in central India and training local engineers. “Largest” is the company’s characterization; the available reporting does not independently establish that ranking. His remarks also do not establish the final legal terms or binding status of the project.

What remains unconfirmed

The announcement is not confirmation that the campus will be built on a particular timetable. The available reports do not establish:

  • a confirmed site or district;
  • financial close, financing drawdown or final binding project terms;
  • a construction start, commissioning date or equipment procurement;
  • a power-supply agreement; or
  • a realized job count or other measured economic impact.

Accordingly, the ₹41,750-crore amount is an announced proposed investment, not verified spending, and 100 MW is planned capacity rather than operating capacity. The project’s delivery and benefits will depend on decisions and milestones not confirmed in the announcement reports.
