A Sigma fp II may be on the way, according to an October 7, 2026 report by L-Rumors, but Sigma has not confirmed the camera or its specifications in the official materials reviewed. The report describes a compact, cine-focused L-Mount camera with an EVF; treat its features, possible price and suggested announcement timing as unverified rumor, not buying information.
What does the Sigma fp II leak claim?
L-Rumors says unnamed “trusted sources” describe a new fp II that could launch soon. The report characterizes it as a cine-focused camera and makes these claims:

- An approximately 24-megapixel sensor
- L-Mount
- Open-gate capture and internal RAW recording
- An EVF
- A body slightly larger than the original fp L
These are claims from a single rumor report, not confirmed specifications. L-Rumors says it is unsure whether the camera would use the reported 24MP sensor, provides no exact internal RAW details, and does not know whether the camera has in-body image stabilization (IBIS). The report also does not establish whether its EVF claim means a built-in viewfinder.

Is the Sigma fp II launching soon?
That is not confirmed. L-Rumors speculates that an announcement could arrive by November 2026, possibly on October 24, and suggests a price of about $2,500. Neither the timing nor the price has been announced by Sigma, so neither should be treated as a release date or a purchasing estimate. The report was published October 7, 2026 and could be superseded by later information.

What Sigma has confirmed about the fp series
Sigma’s established fp-series cameras provide useful context, but their specifications do not verify a successor:
| Camera or accessory | Confirmed information | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Sigma fp | Full-frame interchangeable-lens mirrorless camera with approximately 24.6 effective megapixels and contrast autofocus | Sigma Corporation of America product page; the year is not stated. Sigma describes it as “The world’s smallest and lightest ‘pocketable full-frame’ camera”—a manufacturer claim, not an independently verified current ranking. |
| Sigma fp L | Approximately 61-megapixel full-frame sensor and hybrid autofocus combining contrast and phase detection | Sigma’s March 25, 2021 announcement. Sigma Corporation of America’s 2024 retrospective says the original fp was introduced in October 2019. |
| EVF-11 | Optional external viewfinder designed for the fp series | Identified in Sigma’s fp L announcement and official accessory materials; its existence does not confirm an integrated EVF on a future camera. |
| Alleged fp II | Sensor, autofocus, dimensions, recording details, viewfinder arrangement, stabilization, price and release timing: unconfirmed | L-Rumors’ October 7, 2026 report is not a Sigma announcement. |
What to consider if you need an fp-series camera now
If you are deciding whether to buy an existing fp-series model or wait, compare the confirmed camera and the full setup you would actually use—not just a rumored body. Resolution and autofocus differ between the fp and fp L, while the viewfinder choice can affect both the configuration and its bulk. For video work, check the recording and storage options in the official specifications for the specific model and workflow you need.
