Xfinity can be a good fit for a household that already wants qualifying Xfinity residential Internet, has multiple mobile lines, and can use compatible phones. It is not automatically cheaper once taxes, equipment, phone payments, data-priority limits, and post-promotion pricing are included.
A recently indexed Xfinity offer advertised 300 Mbps Internet at $45 per month for five years with a year of Mobile Select included, but its stated end date was July 21, 2026. As of August 18, 2026, treat that promotion as expired unless the live checkout page for your address shows replacement terms. Check the offer at Xfinity’s Internet and Mobile deals page before switching.

What Xfinity is selling
The bundle has three separate parts: residential Internet, Xfinity Mobile lines, and any devices or add-ons. The advertised mobile price already assumes an eligible Internet-linked multi-product discount; it is not a standalone wireless price.

- Internet: Confirm the speed tier, promotional term or price guarantee, equipment charge, autopay and paperless-billing requirements, taxes, fees, and the regular price after promotion.
- Mobile: Choose Mobile Select or Mobile Plus, then price every line, device installment, protection option, international use, and hotspot requirement.
- Discount: Ask whether changing or canceling Internet removes the discount, stops device credits, or changes the mobile plan.
Availability and pricing are address-specific. Xfinity Mobile enrollment requires Xfinity Internet, and qualifying plans matter: Xfinity support identifies Internet Essentials, Internet Essentials Plus, NOW Internet, and NOW WiFi Pass as ineligible for the latest mobile pricing structure. Four Select lines are $120 per month before taxes, device payments, protection, and other charges. Four Plus lines are $180 before those additions. “Unlimited” does not mean unlimited high-priority data: Select customers who exceed 50 GB may be slowed relative to other traffic when the network is congested, according to Xfinity’s support documentation.

Run the calculation for three periods:
- Months 1–12: Include every introductory credit and its conditions.
- After promotion: Replace the Internet and mobile prices with the stated standard charges.
- After phone financing: Recalculate when installments end, and account for any lost bill credits from your old carrier.
For example, a four-line Select household starts with $120 in mobile plan charges, not a free package. Add Internet, taxes, equipment, phones, protection, and fees. A “free” line can still require Internet service, a qualifying new line, a financed device, or a trade-in. Xfinity’s indexed offer also required autopay from a stored bank account and paperless billing, with taxes and fees extra; verify current requirements in the offer terms.
Who is eligible
- Residential—not business—service at an address in Xfinity’s footprint.
- A qualifying Xfinity Internet product and, for promotions, often new-customer or new-line status.
- Credit approval for device financing.
- An unlocked, compatible phone for bring-your-own-device activation.
- Autopay and paperless billing when the advertised price requires them.
- Trade-in and installment-plan compliance for phone discounts.
Promotional pages can remain indexed after expiration or be replaced by address-specific offers. A checkout screen and its linked legal terms control. Save a copy showing the speed, term, equipment, credits, taxes, and expiration date.
What happens if you cancel or change Internet?
You can generally keep Xfinity Mobile after canceling Internet, but the multi-product discount may disappear. Customers on the newer pricing structure may need an eligible Internet plan to retain discounted line rates. Ask Xfinity, in writing if possible:

- What will each line cost without qualifying Internet?
- Will a free-line or introductory credit be revoked?
- Will remaining device credits continue, and when does any unpaid balance become due?
- Does the change take effect immediately or on the next billing cycle?
- What happens if you move outside the Xfinity footprint?
Moving to NOW Internet or Internet Essentials can therefore reduce the Internet bill while increasing the mobile bill or ending eligibility. Review Xfinity’s cancellation and move guidance before changing plans.
Bring your own phone—or finance one?
Xfinity supports compatible phones, smartwatches, and tablets for customers with Xfinity Internet. Before porting, confirm that the device is unlocked, supports the required network bands, and is not still subject to another carrier’s financing restrictions. Leaving a carrier can stop its monthly bill credits and may require paying the remaining balance.
Phone promotions are separate from service savings. Recent indexed examples included up to $830 off an iPhone with a qualifying trade-in and new Mobile Plus line, or $400 off without a trade-in, plus “phone on us” offers. Those were tied to the July 21, 2026 offer date and should be treated as examples, not current guarantees. Switch your number without losing it
- Check phone compatibility and unlock status, or order the replacement device.
- Obtain your current carrier’s account number, transfer or port-out PIN, billing ZIP code, and account-holder details.
- Start Xfinity Mobile activation and submit the port request while the old account remains active.
- Test calls, texts, cellular data, voicemail, and two-factor authentication.
- Cancel the old carrier only after the port completes and the number works.
- Inspect the first Xfinity bill for missing credits, equipment charges, taxes, and unexpected line rates.
Canceling first can make the number unavailable or make the transfer substantially harder.
Will the network suit your household?
Coverage and performance vary with the underlying cellular network in your area, congestion, indoor signal, phone bands, roaming terms, and how often a line exceeds its premium-data allowance. Xfinity highlights Wi-Fi connectivity and access to millions of hotspots, but Wi-Fi at home does not replace adequate cellular service at work, school, on the commute, or while traveling. Good candidates
- You already want Xfinity Internet and its address-level price is competitive.
- You have two or more lines and your current wireless bill is materially higher after all discounts.
- Users generally stay below about 50 GB of premium data per Select line or accept congestion-related slowdowns.
- You can bring paid-off compatible phones and value one bill or Xfinity hotspot access.
- You can keep an eligible Internet plan for as long as the mobile discount matters.
Weak candidates
- You have one line on an already inexpensive wireless plan.
- You need consistently high-priority data after heavy use or have demanding international-roaming needs.
- Your current phones still receive substantial carrier bill credits.
- The Xfinity price requires a speed tier, gateway, or protection plan you do not need.
- You want mobile service independent of your home Internet provider.
- You expect NOW Internet or Internet Essentials to qualify for the same mobile discount.
Compare households, not advertisements

Alternatives worth checking at the same address
Compare total cost, upload speed, post-promotion pricing, equipment, coverage, data priority, and flexibility with T-Mobile 5G Home Internet, Verizon Home Internet, AT&T Internet, Spectrum, and Google Fiber where available. For mobile-only comparisons, check Visible, Mint Mobile, and US Mobile. These alternatives may not provide a single bill or Xfinity’s bundle discount, but they can win on price, upload capacity, coverage, or independence from one provider.
Pre-switch checklist
- Enter your exact service address and confirm the live offer.
- Verify that the Internet plan qualifies for the mobile discount.
- Record the regular Internet price, promotion end date, gateway charge, and billing requirements.
- Price every line, phone installment, protection option, tax, fee, and activation charge.
- Check phone compatibility, unlock status, and remaining old-carrier balance.
- Calculate 24- and 36-month totals, including the post-promotion period.
- Ask what happens to discounts and device credits if you cancel, move, or downgrade Internet.
- Save the offer terms and complete the number port before closing the old account.
Verdict
Switch to Xfinity Residential only when the live address-specific offer is available, the Internet plan is eligible, coverage works where you actually use your phones, and the full 24-month cost remains lower after device payments, fees, and promotional pricing are included. For multi-line households already seeking Xfinity Internet, the $30 Select and $45 Plus structures can be compelling. For a single line, heavy-data user, financed-phone customer, or anyone relying on a lower-cost ineligible Internet plan, the bundle may cost more than it first appears.
