The Skullcandy Crusher 1080 ANC is worth considering if you want bass you can physically feel and are comfortable with a heavy, bulky fit. Its adjustable haptic bass is the reason to buy it; it is not the obvious pick for neutral sound, long-wear comfort, or the deepest airplane and train rumble. Because seal and fit affect the bass, it is a risky blind buy—especially if you wear glasses.
What makes the Crusher 1080 ANC different?
A wheel on the earcup adjusts Crusher Bass, a tactile effect that adds vibration as well as audible low end. You can also adjust bass intensity in the Skullcandy app. The manufacturer describes Crusher Bass as its “patented, original immersive multi-sensory bass experience”; that is Skullcandy’s description, not an independent finding (Skullcandy support guide).

The wheel has 120° of rotation, and the app offers Music, Podcast, and Movie presets plus a custom five-band EQ. Skullcandy says Podcast reduces bass and clarifies the human-voice range, while Movie adds a slight boost from 2 kHz to 6 kHz. These describe the intended effect of the presets; they do not mean every listener will prefer them.
Independent reviews characterize the sound as strongly bass-forward. RTINGS says the extra thump and punch can suit electronic music but may make some midrange instruments sound boomy; it found most of the remaining midrange largely accurate and a slight treble emphasis that adds percussion clarity. SoundGuys’ measurements also show emphasized bass. This is a specialist sound signature, not a neutral reference tuning (RTINGS review; SoundGuys review).

Does fit change the bass?
Yes. RTINGS reports that bass delivery, particularly low bass, changes with fit and seal. Glasses can break the seal and reduce the physical thump. If you can, try the headphones with the eyewear you normally wear. For an online purchase, check the seller’s return terms before ordering; a poor seal can change the feature you are buying the headphones for.
The headphones have thick padding and a firm clamp, but RTINGS found their weight can become tiring, the cups may shift during running or intense movement, and smaller earcups may rub larger ears. They are better suited to stationary listening and commuting than strenuous workouts. RTINGS tested a True Black unit; the listed colors are True Black, Candy (pink), Primer (brown-beige), and Cement (light gray).
How well does the ANC handle daily noise and travel?
RTINGS found useful reduction of ordinary environmental noise and nearby conversation, making the Crusher 1080 ANC practical for office use and travel. Its weaker point is the deepest low-frequency transport rumble: train and plane engine noise is not attenuated as well as common everyday sounds. If that rumble is your main concern, RTINGS says the Anker Soundcore Space Q45 blocks it better.

RTINGS also reports little sound leakage at high playback volume. The product page lists Bose QuietControl ANC, Bose TrueSpatial, Bose SpeechClarity, and Bose WaveForm Audio Engine among its features. Those are manufacturer-listed technologies; they should not be read as a guarantee of a particular ANC or sound-quality result (Skullcandy product page).
Are the microphone and wired connections useful?
For calls, RTINGS found speech understandable in moderate office or café noise, but a subway train can overwhelm the microphone. Choose a different headset if reliably clear speech in loud surroundings is a priority.
The headphones support Bluetooth and wired listening. RTINGS reports that the included USB-C cable is for charging, not audio; USB-C audio requires a compatible audio cable that is not included. The package does include a 3.5 mm AUX cable, USB-C-to-USB-C charging cable, roll-top travel bag, and user guide. RTINGS says wired USB-C and analog connections carry audio and microphone signal while the headphones are powered on. Passive analog listening carries audio only and disables the microphone.

For timing-sensitive games, RTINGS found Bluetooth latency too high even with low-latency mode enabled. Its wired-gaming measurements were 10.8 ms over analog and 18 ms over USB-C; those are RTINGS test results, not a universal guarantee for every device or setup. Wired use is the better option when game timing matters.

Skullcandy claims up to 60 hours with ANC off and 50 hours with ANC on, and says a 10-minute charge provides four hours of playback. Its support guide estimates about 45 minutes for a full charge and notes that actual life varies with feature use, volume, Crusher Bass, and TrueSpatial. These are manufacturer claims, not promises for every listening pattern (Skullcandy support guide).
RTINGS measured 62.5 hours with ANC enabled in its own test. That reviewer result differs from Skullcandy’s published ANC-on figure; treat the two as separate estimates rather than assuming either number is guaranteed in everyday use (RTINGS review).

Will the app work with an iPhone?
Skullcandy’s support documentation says its mobile app supports iOS and Android phones, so an iPhone user can use the app’s controls. The same guide says the app is not supported on PC, iPad, or MacBook. It also documents pairing two devices, firmware updates, and resetting pairing. App behavior and instructions can change, so consult the current support guide if a menu or procedure differs from what you see.
The product includes a USB-C charging cable, but that does not establish USB-C audio support for a particular iPhone. RTINGS says the included cable does not carry audio and that USB-C audio requires a compatible cable. Whether a wired connection works with your iPhone depends on the phone model and the cable or adapter you use; the available information does not establish compatibility for every iPhone generation. Bluetooth avoids that uncertainty.

What are the specifications and current price?
Skullcandy lists Bluetooth 5.3, a 36 mm driver, 36Ω ±15% impedance, a 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency response, and a weight of 374.2 g. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements (Skullcandy product page).
Price and availability depend on market, color, and seller. What Hi-Fi? reported July 2026 launch prices of £220, $280, and AU$400. The Skullcandy US page’s captured price information was inconsistent, showing both $199.99 and $279.99 alongside out-of-stock language; neither figure should be treated as a verified current price.
