What is the Ninja Air Fryer Max AF160ANZ?
Ninja’s Australian product page calls the appliance the Air Fryer Max, model AF160. The official Australia/New Zealand instructions identify the regional model as AF160ANZ, the code used in CHOICE’s listing. That distinction matters: similarly named Ninja air fryers may have different specifications or components.

The specifications are manufacturer-listed or taken from CHOICE’s visible product listing, not independently measured values. Check the physical footprint, including room to open and remove the drawer, against your counter before buying.
How strong is the independent performance evidence?
CHOICE’s current listing displays a 72% Expert Rating for the AF160ANZ; it does not show a publication year. The score is a useful sign that the exact model has an independent listing, but it does not reveal how well the appliance cooked particular foods. CHOICE’s results for frozen chips, chicken wings, crumbed chicken and roast pork, as well as its ease-of-use and cleaning assessments, are member-only on the retrieved page.

Ninja says Max Crisp is intended to make frozen foods extra crispy with little to no oil. That is a manufacturer description, not a verified comparative result for this model. Ninja also advertises “up to 75% less fat” than traditional frying, comparing with hand-cut, deep-fried chips, and “up to 50% faster” cooking than a traditional oven, citing fish fingers and sausages. These are vendor claims, not general guarantees about nutrition, speed or results in your kitchen.

Is the AF160ANZ a good fit for your kitchen?
It may suit someone who values a broad set of cooking modes and a high listed maximum temperature. The six functions give more options than air frying alone, while the Max Crisp mode is positioned for frozen foods. The available evidence does not establish that it outperforms other air fryers or that its nominal capacity suits a particular household size.

Before deciding, consider the questions that affect day-to-day use:
- Batch size: Think about the foods and portions you normally cook. The 5.2L figure is claimed capacity, not a published usable-volume measurement.
- Counter space: Compare the listed dimensions with the space available, allowing for drawer access. The manufacturer and CHOICE list different measurements.
- Cleaning: The ceramic-coated basket and crisper plate are specified, but the public evidence reviewed here does not establish cleaning ease or long-term coating durability.
- Purchase terms: Check the warranty and support that apply to your region, seller and purchase date.
- Price and availability: Verify current stock and pricing with a retailer; the visible CHOICE listing is not a live market-wide price check.
Warranty, availability and replacement parts
Ninja lists a two-year warranty, while CHOICE’s listing states one year and marks the AF160ANZ discontinued. These are conflicting, time-sensitive details from different sources. Confirm the applicable warranty with Ninja or the seller for your region and purchase date, and check current availability rather than assuming the model is still broadly sold.

Ninja identifies a ceramic-coated basket and crisper plate as included components. The available information does not confirm a specific replacement part’s compatibility with AF160ANZ. If you need a replacement, verify the exact model code with the manufacturer or seller before ordering; appearance alone is not enough to establish fit.

The AF160ANZ has a clear feature set on paper: six listed modes, 5.2L claimed capacity, and a 40–240°C range. The main reason to be cautious is not a proven defect, but the limits of public performance evidence and the conflicting listing details for dimensions, weight and warranty. It is a more defensible choice if the footprint and current purchase terms work for you and you can assess the basket size in person; don’t rely on the rating or marketing claims as a substitute for detailed cooking results.
