The current Gigaset GS6 Pro is a conditional buy: choose it if a removable battery, IP68 water resistance, wireless charging and German manufacturing matter more to you than fast performance or strong cameras. Notebookcheck’s 2026 review found recurring stutters and weak cameras, so buyers who prioritize responsiveness or photography should compare other mid-range phones before paying. The title does not identify a model; this assessment is specifically about the GS6 Pro, not the older GS5 PRO SE.
What “Made in Germany” means on the GS6 Pro
Gigaset says the GS6 family is Made in Germany. Notebookcheck reports that the GS6 Pro is manufactured in Bocholt, with development, production, final assembly, final inspections, quality control and service operations located in Germany. That does not mean every part is German or European: the OLED display, MediaTek processor and Samsung camera sensors are sourced from suppliers. The label describes where the phone is developed and manufactured, not the origin of its entire bill of materials. Notebookcheck’s review discusses the distinction.

What you get for the price
Gigaset lists the GS6 Pro with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The less expensive GS6 has the same listed RAM and 128 GB of storage. Both are listed with a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, 5G, microSD expansion, eSIM, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6E. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measures of how quickly the phone performs. Gigaset’s product page lists the GS6 family specifications.

The GS6 Pro’s more unusual combination is a removable 5,300 mAh battery, 30 W wired charging, 15 W wireless charging and IP68 protection, according to Gigaset. The manufacturer says an original replacement battery is available through its online shop. A replaceable battery may make it easier to keep the phone in use when battery capacity declines, but there is no measured lifespan or quantified environmental benefit established here. Notebookcheck highlights the combination of replaceable battery, wireless charging and water protection as a distinctive mid-range feature.

Where the GS6 Pro compromises
Everyday speed
Notebookcheck’s review, published August 23, 2026, describes the system-on-chip as slow and reports recurring stutters in daily use. That is a reviewer’s assessment of the tested phone, not a claim that every task will be unusable. It does mean the GS6 Pro should not be treated as a performance-first choice.
Cameras and display tuning
The review finds the cameras weak compared with mid-range alternatives from Samsung and Xiaomi. It also lists poor display color calibration among the drawbacks, despite the OLED panel being one of the phone’s strengths. If dependable camera quality or accurate out-of-the-box color matters, those trade-offs weigh against buying it.

Other limitations
Notebookcheck also lists USB 2.0, limited Bluetooth codec support and Android upgrades only through Android 17 among the GS6 Pro’s drawbacks. These may matter more to people who transfer large files over a cable, use particular Bluetooth audio codecs, or expect major Android-version updates for longer.
How long will software support last?
Gigaset’s support table lists the GS6 and GS6 Pro as 2025 launches with Android 15, planned upgrades to Android 16 and Android 17, and an update-support end date of November 2032. That is a long stated security-support horizon, but it does not mean seven years of major Android upgrades: the listed plan includes two major version upgrades, ending at Android 17. Notebookcheck’s review unit was running Android 15 with a May 2026 security patch during testing. Check the Gigaset support table for the stated schedule.

Price: compare the exact model and current listing
Notebookcheck reported GS6 Pro availability starting at around €380, including Amazon Germany, in its August 2026 review. Separately, Gigaset’s German product page displayed €339 for a selected GS6 configuration when accessed; that is not the GS6 Pro price and the configurations should not be conflated. Both figures are time- and listing-specific. Before buying, confirm whether the offer is for the GS6 or GS6 Pro, the storage capacity, seller, stock and live price. The available evidence does not establish that either model is universally better value than competing phones.
Who should buy it—and who should skip it?
| Priority | What the GS6 Pro offers | Buying implication |
|---|---|---|
| Replaceable battery | Removable battery; Gigaset says an original replacement is available | A strong reason to consider it if battery replacement is central to your ownership plans. |
| Protection and charging convenience | IP68 and 15 W wireless charging, alongside the removable battery, according to Gigaset | A particularly unusual combination in this price segment, highlighted by Notebookcheck. |
| Long security support | Gigaset lists support through November 2032 | Attractive if security updates matter more than receiving many major Android upgrades. |
| Responsiveness | Notebookcheck reports a slow chipset and recurring daily-use stutters | Compare other mid-range phones if smooth performance is a priority. |
| Camera quality | Notebookcheck finds the cameras weak against mainstream mid-range peers | Skip or compare alternatives if photography is a major reason for your purchase. |
| German manufacturing | Notebookcheck reports manufacture in Bocholt, while some components are sourced from suppliers | Consider it if German development and manufacturing matter, while recognizing the distinction between assembly location and component origin. |
For independent context, Notebookcheck’s reviewer Marcus Herbrich concluded that German development and production come with compromises against mid-range Xiaomi and Samsung phones, particularly for cameras and chipset speed. That is a review judgment, not a universal value measurement. The decision turns on whether the GS6 Pro’s repairability-oriented and protection features offset its performance and camera trade-offs for you.

Do not confuse it with the older GS5 PRO SE
The GS5 PRO SE is a separate, older phone; its specifications and update status do not describe the GS6 Pro. Gigaset’s GS5 PRO SE page lists Android 13, a 6.3-inch FHD+ display, a Helio G85 processor, a removable 4,500 mAh battery and 64 MP, 8 MP and 2 MP rear cameras. It also lists a GS5 Android 13 system update from April 2026 with a February 2026 Google security update. Consult the GS5 PRO SE product page only if you are evaluating that older model.
