What the OpenRun Pro 2 is for
The OpenRun Pro 2 is an open-ear headset for listeners who want audio without sealing their ear canals. Its design leaves ambient sound more accessible than conventional in-ear or over-ear headphones, which can be useful while exercising or moving through everyday surroundings. That does not guarantee awareness or make any outdoor activity safe; stay alert and follow local rules.
TechRadar lists the Pro 2 at 30 g, with up to 12 hours of battery life, IP55 resistance, and standard and mini headband sizes. Those are TechRadar’s listed specifications for the Pro 2, not specifications for the earlier OpenRun Pro. Battery life can vary with use.

What you give up with open-ear listening
Because the ears remain exposed, ambient sound can reach you, but that also means less isolation from surrounding noise. TechRadar notes that conventional in-ear or over-ear headphones can provide better sound quality. Choose the Pro 2 for the open-ear format rather than expecting the isolation or fidelity of a well-sealed conventional pair.
Is it suitable for swimming?
No. TechRadar lists an IP55 rating and says the OpenRun Pro 2 is not suitable for swimming. PCWorld describes resistance to sweat and rain, not full submersion. Treat it as a workout headset for conditions within those limits, not as a pool headphone.

How it differs from the older OpenRun Pro
Do not transfer the older model’s specifications to the Pro 2. Shokz’s official OpenRun Pro page states 10 hours of use and a five-minute quick charge for up to 1.5 hours; those figures refer to the older OpenRun Pro. Shokz’s S810/S811 spec sheet, dated April 7, 2026, lists 29 g, IP55 sweat resistance, and up to 10 hours for those older models. The Pro 2 figures above come from TechRadar’s 2026 comparison guide, not those older-model Shokz pages.

Who should consider the deal
- Consider it if you want an open-ear headset for workouts or everyday listening and value the option of hearing more of your surroundings.
- Look elsewhere if you need swimming headphones, stronger noise isolation, or the sound presentation typical of conventional in-ear or over-ear models.
- Check the fit between the standard and mini headband sizes before ordering; TechRadar lists both options.
