The Shark Navigator Pet ZU62ANZ is a corded upright with hard-floor and carpet settings, adjustable suction and a brushroll Shark describes as self-cleaning. Those features make it a plausible option for homes with pets, but the available public evidence does not establish how well it picks up pet hair or how often hair tangles in independent testing. Treat Shark’s performance statements as manufacturer claims, and verify that the regional model and package match your market before buying.
What is the Shark Navigator Pet ZU62ANZ?
Shark’s Australia/New Zealand product page describes the Navigator Pet with Self Cleaning Brushroll ZU62 as a corded upright vacuum. It specifies settings for hard floors and carpet, plus minimum and maximum suction. The page lists a 7.6 m cord and a 3.6 m extendable hose. These are distinct from CHOICE’s reported 8.1 m reach from a power point, which is a separate measurement. Shark’s regional product specifications may not match every country’s version.

The sources report substantially different dust-capacity figures and slightly different weights. They may use different definitions or methods; the available information does not explain the discrepancy, so the figures should not be combined or treated as directly comparable. Watts describe electrical power, not cleaning results. CHOICE’s public listing does not reveal its expert rating or detailed pros and cons without membership. CHOICE’s ZU62ANZ listing shows some model information, but it does not establish a current price.

Is it good for pet hair?
Shark says the brushroll “Actively separates and removes hair with a unique bristle-guard, helping to leave the bristle brush-roll tangle-free.” That is the manufacturer’s description, not an independently verified result. Shark’s owner guide also notes that the brushroll may need time to move remaining hair into the dust cup. Neither source provides a quantified pet-hair pickup result or a guarantee that the brushroll will remain free of tangles in every home.

The available public evidence does not include accessible independent results for pet-hair removal, carpet or hard-floor pickup, hair wrap, edge cleaning, noise or maneuverability. CHOICE’s detailed expert assessment is gated. If those factors determine your choice, look for a test that identifies the surface, hair type and method rather than relying on the brushroll label or wattage alone.
Filtration, included tools and warranty
Shark states that the vacuum “Traps 99.9% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum, NOT putting them back into the air you breathe”. The product information does not provide an independent test protocol for that percentage, so it should be understood as Shark’s claim rather than a separately confirmed filtration result.

How to maintain the filters and brushroll
Shark’s APAC FAQ, dated 1 May 2026, gives the schedule below. It is regional guidance: check the current manual for your country and exact model. Shark’s owner guide says to rinse filters with cold water only and air-dry them for at least 24 hours before reinstalling. Do not put damp filters back in the vacuum.

If the vacuum switches off
- Unplug the vacuum and empty the dust cup.
- Clean the filters and check the vacuum for blockages.
- Let it cool for at least 60 minutes before trying to restart it.
For a rug that lifts while vacuuming, Shark’s FAQ advises switching to the hard-floor setting and using minimum suction.

- LIFT-OFF DETACHABLE POD. Conveniently clean anywhere in your home, even hard-to-reach areas, with the lightweight canister and quick-release extension wand.
- HEPA SEALED ALLERGEN SYSTEM. This vacuum captures dust allergens inside the vacuum so they don’t escape back into the air you breathe.

- SCATTER-FREE TECHNOLOGY. Vacuuming hard floors shouldn't be a headache. Strong suction and scatter-free technology makes cleaning a breeze.
Who should consider it—and what remains uncertain?
The ZU62ANZ’s stated format and features may suit someone seeking a corded upright with selectable floor settings, adjustable suction and included dusting and upholstery tools. Its listed 7.3 kg weight is worth considering if you regularly carry a vacuum up stairs. Its corded design and extendable hose offer a different setup from a cordless vacuum, but the published figures alone do not establish real-world convenience or cleaning reach in your rooms.

There is not enough accessible independent performance evidence to call it a top choice for pet hair or to compare it confidently with another vacuum. CHOICE’s public listing supplies selected measurements, not its gated assessment; Shark’s cleaning and filtration statements remain manufacturer claims. Current exact-model price, stock and retailer package contents are also not established here. Verify the regional model, warranty and included accessories before buying.
