Its solo developer, QuilleTech, says it runs without an account or download and offers decisions with consequences across a club career.
What you do in Shadow Director
Instead of managing the action on the pitch, you handle the choices and relationships around the team. QuilleTech describes a story-like flow of texts and emails, with situations such as a chairman freezing the budget, a coach asking for a striker, or a journalist asking whether a star player is for sale.

The aim is to progress from assistant director toward club chairman while managing a small staff and academy. The developer’s description frames the challenge as deciding what to do—and living with the consequences—rather than setting up each match.
How much football-world scope does it offer?
In the October 6, 2026 announcement, QuilleTech reports four divisions and 80 clubs. Those figures describe the scope stated by the developer; the post does not provide independent play testing or reviews.
Access, language and saves
- Cost and access: The game is described as free and playable in a browser without an account or download.
- Languages: The developer reports English and French versions.
- Saving: Saves are described as local to the browser, with optional cloud saving through a Google account using Supabase. The announcement does not establish how saves behave across browsers or devices.
These availability and feature details come from the developer’s announcement, not an independent compatibility or save-system test. The post does not specify supported browsers, devices, or performance requirements.
Who might enjoy it—and what remains uncertain
Shadow Director may appeal to football fans interested in club-building, internal politics and consequential choices more than match-by-match tactical control. It is also an early project: QuilleTech invited feedback on what feels missing or dull and what might make players want to continue into another season.
