Sakura is my pick. Her youthful energy and clear connection to the series’ established fighters would add a new point of view without displacing the core trio. Fei Long could deliver a focused martial-arts showcase, while Rose would push the story toward supernatural intrigue. Those are fan-facing possibilities, not announced casting: no sequel has been officially confirmed in the sources currently available.
What the 2026 movie establishes
Capcom and Legendary produced the live-action Street Fighter, with Paramount distributing it theatrically. Official listings set its release for October 16, 2026. Legendary’s synopsis places the story in 1993 and follows estranged street fighters Ryu and Ken as Chun-Li recruits them for the World Warrior Tournament.

Capcom’s announced principal cast includes Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken and Callina Liang as Chun-Li. That lineup gives any follow-up a defined center: a reunited pair with personal history, plus Chun-Li as the person who brings them into the tournament. The question here is therefore not who should replace a lead, but which additional fighter could broaden the next story.

Why Sakura is the strongest all-purpose addition
Sakura can enter the story without requiring a new mythology lesson. Her admiration for Ryu creates an immediate relationship, but she does not have to be written as a copy of him. A tournament arc could let her prove that enthusiasm and improvisation matter alongside experience. She also gives Chun-Li a younger fighter to mentor and gives Ken someone whose confidence is less tied to rivalry.
The key is restraint. Sakura should have a goal beyond asking Ryu for instruction: qualifying on her own terms, protecting someone in her community or discovering what kind of fighter she wants to become. That keeps her from functioning as a mascot and gives the tournament an emotional thread separate from Ryu and Ken’s estrangement.

Why Fei Long could deliver the best fight scenes
Fei Long would make sense if the filmmakers want the next movie to emphasize choreography and the craft of martial arts. His Hong Kong cinema influence offers a respectful way to acknowledge the genre that shaped many fighting-game fantasies, while his focused, hand-to-hand style would contrast with characters who rely on spectacle or supernatural abilities.

Why Rose would expand the mythology
Rose is the boldest tonal choice. Her presence could connect the World Warrior Tournament to an unseen force, visions or consequences that cannot be solved by winning a match. That makes her useful if a follow-up wants a story-driven escalation rather than simply a larger tournament.
Her abilities would need clear rules and visual discipline. If the supernatural material arrives without explanation, it could overwhelm the grounded 1993 setting established for the first film. Used carefully, Rose can provide information the fighters cannot obtain through combat and force them to decide whether victory is still the right objective.

My choice: bring in Sakura first
A sequel has not been announced, so this is a creative preference rather than a prediction about casting. If the filmmakers continue from the 2026 setup, Sakura offers the cleanest balance of accessibility, character growth and tournament utility. Fei Long is the ideal choice for a martial-arts showcase; Rose is the ideal choice for a supernatural expansion. Sakura, however, can support either direction while keeping the human relationships at the center.

Let her earn a place among the competitors, reveal a personal stake and make a decision that affects Ryu, Ken or Chun-Li. That approach would make the new fighter feel necessary to the next story instead of added only to enlarge the roster.
Who would you add?
Which character do you hope gets added next: Sakura, Fei Long, Rose or someone else? The 2026 film’s 1993 setting and World Warrior Tournament provide room for very different follow-up stories, from a grounded rivalry to a supernatural mystery. While you decide, Hasbro’s licensed Street Fighter action figures and collectibles offer a way to collect the fighter you most want to see on screen.
