To set up a racing wheel on PS5, confirm the exact model and game are compatible, connect the pedals and power as its manual directs, plug the wheel directly into the console, select any required mode, and wait for calibration to finish. Then press the wheel’s PS button and sign in if the model requires it. Switch positions and game support vary, so do not treat one wheel’s steps as universal.
Check compatibility before connecting
Verify the exact wheel version—not just its product-family name—supports PS5. A PlayStation version and an Xbox version of a similarly named wheel are not interchangeable assumptions. Also check the game’s supported-wheel list: console recognition does not guarantee that every title or feature will work. Logitech’s G923 product information identifies a PlayStation/PC configuration, while its setup guide points owners to supported games. Thrustmaster’s T-GT II setup instructions also make the required switch position game-dependent.

Connect and set up the wheel
- Mount the wheel and position the pedals. Secure the wheel so it cannot shift during use, place the pedals within comfortable reach, and route cables so steering or pedal movement cannot pull them loose.
- Connect the pedals to the wheel base. Use the connector specified in the wheel’s manual. For the T-GT II, Thrustmaster specifies the pedal connector at the rear of the base.
- Connect the power supply. Follow the model’s wiring diagram and use its specified power supply. Logitech’s G923 quick-start instructions show its power-adapter arrangement; Thrustmaster gives separate power-connection instructions for the T-GT II.
- Select the correct mode or switch position, if applicable. Use the instructions for your exact wheel and game. For example, the T-GT II uses OTHER or GT according to the PS5 game; the T150 switch must be set to PS5-PS4 before connecting it to the console. These settings are model-specific.
- Connect the wheel to the PS5 by USB. For the T150, Thrustmaster advises connecting directly to the console rather than through a hub or extension. A direct connection is also a useful first check when troubleshooting other wheels.
- Turn on the PS5 and let calibration finish. Keep hands and objects clear while the wheel moves. Logitech says the G923 rotates fully to each side and returns to center whenever it connects; it is ready after calibration completes. Thrustmaster documents self-calibration for the T-GT II after the console is powered on.
- Press the wheel’s PS button and sign in if prompted or required. Thrustmaster’s T-GT II instructions say to press the wheel’s PS button and log in to PlayStation Network for the wheel to function.
- Open the game and check its controls. Confirm the game detects the wheel and pedals, then review that title’s controller settings. There is no universal PS5 menu path established for wheel configuration.
Model-specific details to watch
Logitech G923 PlayStation version
Logitech lists a PlayStation/PC configuration for the G923 and describes its PS5 installation in the quick-start guide. Expect the wheel to rotate to both sides and return to center during connection calibration. Logitech also notes that TRUEFORCE and other advanced features require game integration; check its supported-games information rather than assuming those features work in every title.
Thrustmaster T-GT II
Connect the pedals and power, choose OTHER or GT according to the game, then connect USB and allow self-calibration. Press the wheel’s PS button and sign in as described in the T-GT II instructions.

Thrustmaster T150
Before USB connection, set the switch to PS5-PS4. Thrustmaster’s T150 help instructions advise connecting directly to the PS5 and trying another console USB port if needed.
Troubleshoot a wheel the PS5 or game does not recognize
The wheel does not calibrate
- Check power and cable connections against the wheel’s manual.
- Try another PS5 USB port with a direct connection.
- Confirm any console-mode switch is set correctly for that model. For the T150, check PS5-PS4 mode.
It calibrates, but the console or game does not recognize it
- Press the wheel’s PS button; some models also require signing in.
- Check the model’s switch position and connect directly to the console, especially if using a T150.
- Verify that the particular game supports the exact wheel. A wheel’s successful calibration alone does not establish game compatibility.
The pedals do not respond
Check that the pedal plug is fully seated in the wheel base, then review the game’s controller configuration. Pedal-specific remedies differ by model, so use its manufacturer support instructions rather than applying another wheel’s procedure.

Force feedback or an advanced feature is missing
Check the title’s wheel support and in-game settings. Logitech states that TRUEFORCE and other advanced G923 features require game integration, so console detection by itself does not establish that a feature is supported.

Calibration looks abnormal or the wheel spins unexpectedly
Stop using the wheel and consult the manufacturer’s instructions for that exact model. Do not try a reset sequence copied from another wheel; a universal reset procedure is not established.

- The exact wheel version is listed as PS5-compatible.
- Your game supports that wheel, and the features you want are supported in that title.
- Pedals and power are connected as the wheel’s manual shows.
- Any model-specific switch is set before connection when required.
- Calibration has completed and the wheel’s PS button has been used if necessary.
