Its secure-fit options, sweat-and-rain resistance, and sport-focused listening modes make it a capable training partner, but the sensors are not a reason to buy it if you already rely on a sports watch. Comfort is also personal: one SoundGuys reviewer found the earbud body uncomfortable after about an hour. Choose it for integrated biometrics and a sports-focused design, not for class-leading noise cancellation or a guaranteed all-day fit.
What makes the MOMENTUM Sport different?
Its defining feature is a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor for heart-rate measurement and an in-ear temperature sensor. Sennheiser lists a heart-rate measuring range of 30–220 bpm and a temperature range of 35.5–42.0 °C, with stated accuracy of ±0.3 °C. Those are manufacturer specifications, not evidence of independent clinical validation. Full use of sensor data requires Sennheiser Smart Control and Polar Flow; the product also supports compatibility with sports devices and apps, including Polar Flow integration.

The design is aimed at exercise as well as listening. Sennheiser describes a semi-open design intended to help with awareness of your surroundings, plus selectable Transparency, Anti-wind, and Adaptive Noise Cancelling modes. A 10 mm transducer and an acoustic relief channel intended to reduce occlusion effects round out the audio design. Bluetooth 5.2 supports aptX Adaptive, AAC, and SBC; the manual also lists aptX.

Are the Sennheiser MOMENTUM Sport good for running?
They can suit running if you want workout earbuds with built-in biometric sensors and a fit you can adjust. The box includes interchangeable ear tips and fins in multiple sizes, giving you options to improve retention. Sennheiser’s semi-open design and selectable transparency modes can also help when you want more awareness than ANC provides.

Fit is the main uncertainty. SoundGuys’ reviewer described the earbud body as relatively large and reported outer-ear pressure that became painful after about an hour. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a prediction for every runner; the included tips and fins may help with sizing and stability, but cannot guarantee comfort. If possible, try them for a sustained session before committing, especially if larger earbuds tend to bother your ears.
SoundGuys also reported that, in its reviewer’s use, the heart-rate display stayed within a few beats of an Apple Watch. The reviewer noted that the included transparent ear tips are needed for the sensors to work correctly and that third-party foam tips may impair readings. Treat this as an individual observation, not a general accuracy guarantee.

Can you work out with the Sennheiser MOMENTUM Sport?
Yes. Their sport-oriented fit options and water-resistance ratings make them suitable for workouts involving sweat or rain within the limits of those ratings. The earbuds are rated IP55, while the charging case is IP54, according to the manual. Water resistance does not make them swimming earbuds: SoundGuys advises against submerging them.

The distinction between the earbuds and case matters in practice. The IP55 rating applies to the earbuds, not the charging case, so keep the case protected from exposure beyond its IP54 rating. Resistance ratings are not a promise that damage from any particular use is covered; follow the manufacturer’s care guidance.

How good are the sound, ANC, and transparency modes?
The MOMENTUM Sport gives you several modes for changing how much outside sound you hear: Adaptive Noise Cancelling, Transparency, and Anti-wind. The semi-open design is intended to help with environmental awareness, while ANC offers the option to reduce distractions when that is preferable.
SoundGuys found that ANC reduced the loudness of most noise by about 75% in its assessment, but said it did not match the strongest ANC earbuds. That figure describes the publisher’s review result, not a universal manufacturer specification or a guarantee in every setting. If blocking noise is your priority, ANC performance is a trade-off to weigh against the Sport’s integrated sensors.

How long does the Sennheiser MOMENTUM Sport battery last?
Battery life depends on the test conditions. Sennheiser’s manual states six hours of earbud operation and 24 hours total with the charging case when using AAC at 50% volume, with ANC and health-data sensors active and a phone within one metre. In a separate test, SoundGuys measured 6 hours and 40 minutes of playback. These figures come from different methods, so they should not be treated as a direct comparison or a promise of the same runtime in your use.
The manual lists each earbud at 6.4 g, the case at 78.4 g, and both earbuds plus case at 91 g. It also lists a 24-month manufacturer warranty; warranty terms can vary by market, so confirm the local terms before purchase.

MOMENTUM Sport vs. MOMENTUM True Wireless 4
RTINGS frames the choice between these Sennheiser models around priorities rather than one universal winner. The Sport emphasizes biometrics, sport-oriented fit, and durability; RTINGS says the MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 offers better ANC and longer continuous battery life.

The comparison reflects RTINGS’ assessment, while the battery figures for the Sport come from the manual and SoundGuys’ separate test. If you already wear a sports watch, or mainly want stronger ANC and longer continuous listening, the True Wireless 4 may better match your needs. If you want sensors integrated into workout earbuds, the Sport has the clearer case.
Should you buy the Sennheiser MOMENTUM Sport?
Buy them if integrated heart-rate and temperature tracking is useful to your workouts, you want adjustable sport-fit options, and you are comfortable with the stated battery life and ANC trade-offs. Skip them if your existing watch already handles training metrics, if strong noise cancellation is your priority, or if you know larger earbuds cause discomfort for you.
Try to assess fit over a longer listening session if you can: the included sizes broaden your options, but they cannot settle a personal comfort question in advance. Consider the sensors as a workout convenience, not as a substitute for clinically validated measurement.
