The Sennheiser MOMENTUM 5 Wireless is a premium over-ear Bluetooth headphone with adaptive noise cancellation, app-based sound customization, Dolby Atmos spatial audio with head tracking, and a manufacturer-rated battery life of up to 57 hours with ANC enabled. Those features make it an appealing all-rounder on paper, but an independent reviewer praised its soundstage while flagging treble tuning and possible ear discomfort during long sessions. The 57-hour figure is Sennheiser’s claim, not a runtime result verified here.
What the MOMENTUM 5 Wireless is
Sennheiser announced the MOMENTUM 5 Wireless on May 26, 2026, as an over-ear Bluetooth headphone and an evolution of its MOMENTUM range. This review concerns the headphones, not the separate MOMENTUM True Wireless 5 earbuds. At launch, Sennheiser said the headphones included Bluetooth 5.4 and that Bluetooth 6.0 capability was planned for a future firmware release; that announcement does not establish whether the update has since shipped. Sennheiser’s launch announcement is the reference for that launch-era connectivity statement.

The feature set is broad: Sennheiser lists a 42 mm dynamic driver, adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC), Dolby Atmos spatial audio with head tracking, and a user-replaceable battery. Its product-tour description also identifies snap-off ear cushions. These are manufacturer-described features, not independent findings about how well each performs in everyday use. Sound: promising space, with a treble caveat
In a review published June 21, 2026, TechRadar praised the MOMENTUM 5’s soundstage, but said the treble could use adjustment. Those are the reviewer’s subjective impressions, not a universal verdict or a listening test conducted for this article. The headphones’ app-based EQ and sound-personalization tools may be useful if you want to tailor the presentation rather than accept the default tuning.

Sennheiser says its Smart Control Plus app includes a built-in EQ, sound modes, and Sound Personalization. Its product page also lists frequency response figures of 6 Hz–40 kHz over USB and Bluetooth and 6 Hz–22 kHz over analog line-in. Those are specification ranges; they do not guarantee that a listener will hear those extremes or that the headphone will sound a particular way. Check the official product information and Sennheiser support materials for current app, connection, and operating details.
Noise cancellation, spatial audio, and everyday features
Sennheiser describes the ANC as adaptive, meaning it is designed to respond to the listening environment; the available product information does not establish comparative cancellation performance against Sony or Bose models. The official materials also list transparency functionality, calls and microphones, and touch controls, with setup and operation details covered in support materials. Dolby Atmos spatial audio with head tracking is another listed feature, but its presence alone does not establish how compelling it will sound with a particular source or listener.

Battery life and repair-minded design
Sennheiser rates the MOMENTUM 5 Wireless for up to 57 hours of playback with ANC enabled. That is a maximum manufacturer claim, not an independent endurance result in the cited review. Actual runtime can vary with settings and use, and no test conditions or independent battery measurement are established here.

TechRadar’s reviewer reported comfortable cushioning but also said a slight ridge inside the earcup could cause discomfort during long listening sessions. Fit is individual, so this is a reason to try the headphones if possible rather than a claim that everyone will find them uncomfortable. If you regularly wear headphones for extended stretches, pay particular attention to how the earcups sit against your ears.
