How to brew with the SFP-34DS
- Set the press on a flat, non-slip surface. Secura’s manual says it is not for stovetop use.
- Use fresh, coarse-ground coffee. The manual warns that fine grounds can clog the screen.
- Add hot water that is not boiling, leaving at least 1 inch (25 mm) of space at the top.
- Plunge gently. Secura warns that excessive force can cause hot liquid to eject from the top of the pot.
Cleaning and care
Secura says the parts are dishwasher safe. Its manual also cautions against abrasive materials and harsh chemicals, and instructs users to dry the press completely after use to help avoid rust. Follow the care instructions for the specific unit; the dishwasher-safe claim does not specify a cycle.
