Kyiv’s Northern Bridge was reported hit on Saturday, October 3, 2026, a day after the Southern Bridge was closed following reported drone strikes. The same-day account says damage to the Northern Bridge’s road surface and overhead trolleybus wires blocked traffic from the left bank to the right. The strike and damage details are attributed to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Euronews; they are not independently verified here.
What happened at the Northern Bridge?
Euronews reported on October 3 that Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced the strike in a Telegram post after an air-raid drone alert. The report quotes him as saying, “Northern Bridge has been hit,” and, “Emergency services are heading to the scene.”

Klitschko later said the road surface and overhead wires used by trolleybuses were damaged. He said traffic from the left bank to the right bank was blocked. The report does not provide an engineering assessment or a reopening time.
Which Kyiv crossings were disrupted?
The October 3 Euronews account describes disruption at two of the eight bridges it says connect Kyiv’s two sides. That is a report of conditions at the time, not a complete live-status list or a permanent count of unavailable crossings.

| Crossing | Reported status | What is established in the report |
|---|---|---|
| Northern Bridge | Traffic blocked from the left bank to the right | Klitschko said the road surface and overhead trolleybus wires were damaged. Euronews, October 3, 2026. |
| Southern Bridge | Closed on Friday, October 2 | Euronews said it was closed after drone strikes and officials said it had been hit several times since Thursday. No reopening time is stated. |
| Another bridge, not identified in the account | Movement restricted | Euronews reports restrictions but does not identify the crossing or specify affected modes. |
The report does not establish the status of every other crossing, or give a current authority-wide access notice. Conditions may change; this account alone cannot confirm which routes are open now.
What did the disruption mean for commuters?
Euronews described severe congestion and queues on major roads, with some commuters completing journeys on foot. These are qualitative observations in the report, not measured journey times, queue lengths or traffic counts.
