The SEBO Felix Premium 9809AU is a bagged upright sold in Australia with an ET-1 powered head. SEBO Australia lists it as suitable for hard floors and cut-pile carpet, provided the correct head and setting are used. For 100% wool loop carpet, SEBO Australia advises either the optional delicate brush roller or suction-only cleaning. Its published figures include a 3.5-litre filter bag and an airtight S-Class filtration system, which SEBO describes as a manufacturer characterisation rather than an independent result.
This is a specification-led review. It explains what the Australian product page states, how that maps onto real floors, and what you should confirm with a local seller before buying. It does not report hands-on testing, and it does not include measured findings on weight, noise, pickup or manoeuvrability, because no independent test of those characteristics was available to draw on.

Which machine this review covers
SEBO Australia’s product page names this model the Felix Premium upright vacuum cleaner, model 9809AU. Search results often write it as “Felix 1 Premium,” which is the name SEBO uses for the European Felix range. The two are related but not identical. European and UK pages can show different bundles, part numbers and warranty terms, so their details should not be assumed to apply to the Australian 9809AU.

Floor fit: who the 9809AU suits
The clearest way to evaluate this machine is to start with your floors. SEBO’s floor guidance covers three cases, and each one depends on using the right head and setting.
Hard floors
SEBO Australia lists hard floors as a suitable surface. Hard floors are the simplest case, because the main variable is the head. Use the head SEBO specifies for hard surfaces and avoid a setting or roller intended for carpet, which can scatter debris or mark finishes if used in the wrong mode.

- EVERY PURCHASE SAVES PETS. BISSELL proudly supports the BISSELL Pet Foundation and its mission to help save homeless pets.
- POWERFUL SUCTION WITH SCATTER-FREE TECH. Engineered to capture messes on hard floors with less scatter and powerful suction on carpets. Enjoy a convenient, highperformance clean in one machine.
- COMPACT & LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN. Weighing less than 8 pounds, this vacuum is easy to carry and store. Perfect for dorms, apartments, and small living spaces without sacrificing cleaning power.
- REMOVABLE EXTENSION WAND. Features a quick-release wand to easily clean abovefloor surfaces like curtains, upholstery, and baseboards. Tackle dirt and debris in tight spaces with ease.
- EASY EMPTY DIRT CONTAINER. The bagless design allows for quick and mess-free emptying with the push of a button. Keep your hands clean and your home debris-free.
Cut-pile carpet
Cut-pile carpet is also listed as suitable. Cut-pile fibres stand up in loops or tufts, so the head and height setting should match the pile. If you have a mix of hard floors and cut-pile carpet, the same machine can cover both, but you will switch between heads and settings on different rooms.

Wool loop carpet needs more care than the other two surfaces. SEBO Australia’s product page states: “100% wool loop with optional delicate brush roller fitted 5010GE or suction only cleaning.” The page is an unsigned corporate statement, and it adds that the correct floor head and setting must be used. The following steps follow that wording.
Rank #3
- Quick release handle for effortless above floor cleaning. Attach the crevice tool or dusting brush to the end of the handle for cleaning upholstery, windows and other hard to reach places.700.0 watts.Specific uses:hard floor, carpet, dual action
- Powerful all floor suction extracts dirt and hair from hard floors and carpets ease. It’s 10.5” wide cleaning path gets the job done quickly
- Lightweight at only 7.7 pounds with its compact and featherweight design this vacuum can store in any space in your home and be carried anywhere
- Contains one washable filter which can be rinsed and left to dry for no maintenance costs
- Includes a crevice tool and dusting brush which snaps on the vacuum and are within reach at any time during cleaning
- Confirm the carpet is 100% wool loop. The SEBO wording applies to that construction; blends or other loop fibres are not covered by it, so check with SEBO Australia or the carpet supplier before choosing a method.
- Choose one of the two approaches SEBO gives: fit the optional delicate brush roller, which the page identifies as 5010GE, or clean with suction only.
- If you fit the delicate roller, confirm with an Australian seller that the 5010GE part is compatible with the 9809AU and in stock before buying, since the page does not supply a current price or availability.
- Set the machine to the floor head and setting SEBO specifies for this carpet before you start, and do not switch to a more aggressive setting to speed up cleaning.
Filtration in context
SEBO describes the 9809AU as having an airtight S-Class filtration system. That is the manufacturer’s own description of how the machine is built to hold dust in the bag and filters. It is not a result from an independent laboratory, and the sources reviewed do not include a test that compares it with other machines.
Do not read it as a health claim. SEBO’s material does not establish that the machine treats or prevents allergy symptoms, and a vacuum’s filtration cannot by itself address the causes of allergy. If allergy or asthma is a factor in your home, treat the filtration description as the maker’s specification and seek advice from a health professional for medical decisions.

- Upgraded Cyclone System: The Eureka PowerSpeed is now upgraded with new cyclone technology to handle larger debris, smaller dirt, and even microscopic dust.Specific uses:hard floor, carpet, dual action
- Powerful pick-up: Penetrates deep into the carpet to extract embedded dirt, dust, and debris.
- Lightweight: PowerSpeed does all the work while still remaining lightweight.
- 5 Height Settings: The PowerSpeed works well on carpets, shag rugs, and hard floors. Its wheels run smoothly on hardwood floors to prevent scratches or gouges.
- Multiple accessories included: A quick-release handle is connected to the stretch hose for above-floor cleaning. A 7-inch-long crevice tool, dusting brush, and upholstery tool help clean hard-to-reach areas. Extract dirt, and pet hair, and freshen up your car, curtains, ceilings, or door frames. For your convenience, they are all stored right on board.
Ownership: bags, filters and brush rollers
Ongoing running costs and convenience depend on consumables. Felix-family documentation identifies filter bags, pre-motor filters, exhaust microfilters and brush rollers. SEBO’s downloads page lists Felix manuals and spare-parts lists, which is where to find the current parts structure for the Australian model.
Filter bags
The 3.5-litre bag is the stated capacity for this machine. Because the bag size is a specification, not a performance result, the practical question is how often you empty it. That depends on your floors, pets and how much debris your home produces, and no independent figure for bag life is established here.

- SELF-CLEANING BRUSHROLL: Engineered for more pet hair pickup with no hair wrap (vs. Shark bristle nozzles)..Voltage:120 volts. Wattage : 1200 watts
- LIFT-AWAY FUNCTIONALITY: Detachable pod for cleaning under furniture or detach the nozzle to clean above the floor, on upholstery, furniture, stairs, and more.
- ANTI-ALLERGEN COMPLETE SEAL TECHNOLOGY: Works with a HEPA filter to trap dust and allergens inside the vacuum cleaner.

Pre-motor and exhaust filters
Felix-family manuals describe pre-motor filters and exhaust microfilters as separate consumables. Their replacement interval and cost for the Australian 9809AU are not stated in the sources reviewed, so check the current spare-parts list before relying on a schedule.
Brush rollers
The delicate brush roller for wool loop carpet is the consumable that matters most for that floor type. Verify the exact part number and compatibility with SEBO Australia or an authorised dealer. The codes in the North American manual and the UK product pages are market-specific and should not be used to order parts for the Australian model.
What to confirm before you buy
Several purchase details change over time and are not verified here. Ask an Australian seller to confirm each of the following in writing:

What the specifications cannot tell you
Specifications do not answer everyday questions about a vacuum. The sources reviewed do not establish how the 9809AU performs on weight when carried up stairs, how loud it is, how well it picks up fine debris from hard floors or carpet, or how easily it turns and stores in a narrow hallway. Those are the points where a hands-on test would add the most, and until one is published they should be judged in a showroom or from the seller’s return policy.
