Seattle’s backfield is unsettled through the first three weeks of the 2026 regular season. The August 30 roster story anticipated Jadarian Price and George Holani splitting early work, while a September 10 third-party depth chart placed Price ahead of Holani and Emanuel Wilson. Neither source establishes a lasting carry share. The game logs show Wilson’s rushing workload swinging sharply from week to week and Holani taking on more receiving work in Week 3. The available evidence does not identify a goal-line back.
How to compare the Seahawks’ backfield roles
A depth-chart position is a roster snapshot, not a forecast of touches. To judge workload, compare the same players across the same games and separate what happened on the field from what the team or a depth-chart publisher expected.

- Rushing volume: Compare carries and, where available, each back’s share of the team’s running-back carries by game and across a multi-game span. A single high-volume outing does not prove a permanent lead role.
- Receiving involvement: Look at targets, receptions, receiving yards, routes and third-down use when those figures are available. Receptions show completed catches, but not the full opportunity picture: targets and routes can reveal involvement even when a pass is incomplete.
- Goal-line opportunities: Track designed touches inside the 10-yard line, and separately inside the 5. Touchdowns are outcomes, not a substitute for opportunity counts.
- Availability and context: Check active status, injury designations, game script and which other backs were available. Those details can change a weekly workload without establishing a new long-term role.
For the figures below, the comparison window is Weeks 1–3 of the 2026 regular season. The weekly logs provide a clearer view of that window than a single depth-chart ranking, though Seattle’s surfaced team-stat snapshot did not match the sums of the player logs for Holani and Wilson.
What the early-season evidence shows
Jadarian Price: listed first, but no established share
Seattle’s August 30 initial-roster article grouped Price among the running backs and fullback and said Price and Holani figured to split early work. Ourlads’ September 10 depth-chart snapshot subsequently listed Price first at running back, followed by Holani and Wilson. These are different kinds of evidence: the team article describes its expectation at roster cutdown, while Ourlads supplies a dated third-party ordering. Neither demonstrates how carries were distributed over Weeks 1–3. The surfaced material does not provide a complete, consistent individual game log for Price’s rushing and receiving, so it does not support a precise carry share or receiving-role claim.

George Holani: modest rushing totals, a Week 3 receiving jump
NFL.com’s 2026 game log lists Holani with 8 carries for 29 yards and no receptions in Week 1 against New England; 4 carries for 13 yards and 1 reception for 2 yards in Week 2 at Arizona; and 3 carries for 10 yards with 5 receptions for 48 yards in Week 3 at Washington. Summed from those weekly rows, that is 15 carries for 52 rushing yards and 6 catches for 50 receiving yards through Week 3. The shift in catches makes a carries-only comparison incomplete.
Emanuel Wilson: the largest logged rushing total, with a sharp weekly swing
The Seattle Seahawks’ player log lists Wilson with 2 carries for 3 yards in Week 1, 21 carries for 92 yards in Week 2 and 9 carries for 14 yards in Week 3. The weekly rows sum to 32 carries for 109 rushing yards through Week 3. His 21-carry Week 2 outing is the largest rushing workload shown in these surfaced logs, but the fall to 9 carries the following week is a reason not to treat that one game as proof of a durable assignment. The surfaced 2026 logs do not show receiving production for Wilson.

Seattle’s biography also records 502 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 103 carries for Wilson in 2024, when he played for Green Bay. That is prior-season context, not evidence of his role or goal-line usage with Seattle in 2026.
Goal-line duties are not established
The depth-chart snapshot and standard player logs reviewed here do not specify Seattle’s backs’ carries or designed touches inside the 10- or 5-yard line. They therefore do not establish which player handles goal-line work. A touchdown total alone would not settle the question: it records scoring outcomes, not how often a back received an opportunity in those field-position ranges.

Availability can change the picture
Seattle’s August 30 roster article said Zach Charbonnet opened the season on the physically unable to perform list while recovering from an ACL injury and was expected back at some point in the season. The material does not give a confirmed return or activation date. That expectation is relevant to future competition, but it does not change the observed Weeks 1–3 workload.
The same roster context included fullback Brady Russell, whom Seattle kept with Robbie Ouzts on injured reserve. Russell’s presence is not evidence that he competes for the same conventional tailback workload as Price, Holani or Wilson.

Read the depth chart alongside dated game logs
The August 30 team roster story reflects Seattle’s stated early expectation at that point; it also described a roster that could change. Ourlads’ September 10 chart is a third-party depth-chart snapshot, not a team guarantee of assignments. For actual usage, compare player logs over a defined set of games and keep each category—carries, receiving opportunities and goal-line touches—separate.

Statistics and roles can change weekly, so current roster status and logs should be checked for any later-week assessment.
