There is no evidence-backed universal winner. Choose the Scuf Omega if you will use its unusually large set of remappable controls; choose the Razer Raiju V3 Pro if removable rear buttons, a USB wireless dongle and the manufacturer’s claimed battery life fit your setup; choose the DualSense Edge if keeping Sony’s first-party DualSense experience is your priority. The available evidence does not establish a winner for accuracy, latency, comfort or durability, so treat this as a feature-and-fit decision rather than a performance ranking.
Quick answer: which controller suits which player?
| Controller | Best match | Documented strengths | Important trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scuf Omega | Players who want the maximum number of reachable, programmable inputs | 28 total inputs, including 11 additional customizable inputs; four rear paddles, two side buttons and five G-Keys; TMR sticks; adjustable Instant Triggers; app profiles | Vibration modules are removed, and a review listed about 17 hours of battery life |
| Razer Raiju V3 Pro | Competitive players who prefer removable rear buttons and wireless-dongle operation | Four removable rear buttons, two claw-grip bumpers, TMR sticks, software/app customization, up to 36 hours of claimed battery life, 250 Hz wireless polling on PS5 and 2,000 Hz wired polling on PC | No haptic feedback, no PS5 wake-from-sleep, and the 36-hour figure is a manufacturer claim |
| DualSense Edge | Players who want Sony’s DualSense ecosystem and first-party PS5 experience | Use Sony’s current product and support pages to confirm the exact Edge configuration and features for your region | The collected source material does not provide a complete primary-source specification sheet, so detailed Edge-versus-Edge claims should be verified before purchase |
Input count matters only when your hands can reach the controls without accidental presses. A larger number is not automatically better: some players prefer a few clearly placed buttons, while others use several paddles and side inputs to keep thumbs on the sticks.

What makes the three layouts different?
Scuf Omega: the most documented extra inputs
PlayStation’s May 12, 2026 launch announcement describes Omega as having 28 total inputs, including 11 additional customizable inputs. Those extras are four rear paddles, two side buttons and five G-Keys. That is the clearest numerical advantage in this comparison, but it is a capacity advantage, not proof of faster reactions or better aim.

The rear paddles can let you jump, crouch, reload or activate another command without removing a thumb from an analog stick. Side buttons and G-Keys add more possible assignments, which may suit players who use complex control schemes, accessibility remaps or several game profiles. Before buying, consider whether you can identify each control by touch. If not, the additional buttons can become a source of mis-presses.
#1 Best Overall
- Ultra Customizable Controls
- Mappable Back Buttons
- DualSense Wireless Controller Features Built In
- Replaceable Stick Modules and Caps
Omega is officially licensed for PS5. Its product information describes PS5 and PC compatibility, while the PlayStation launch post also names Mac, iOS and Android. Compatibility can depend on the connection mode and the game, so confirm the current mode-specific requirements instead of assuming every platform supports every feature.
SCUF describes TMR sticks and adjustable Instant Triggers. TMR is a sensor technology; it is not evidence that a stick can never drift or that a controller has a guaranteed lifespan. Instant Trigger adjustment changes the trigger feel and travel, which can be useful for shooters but less attractive if you prefer a longer analog pull in racing or action games.
Razer Raiju V3 Pro: a configurable, lighter competitive layout
Razer documents four removable rear buttons and two claw-grip bumpers. Removability is useful if you want rear controls for one game but a cleaner grip for another. The claw-grip bumpers are positioned for an alternative finger posture, so their value depends heavily on your hand size and preferred grip.

- Feel physically responsive feedback to your in-game actions through haptic feedback
- Experience varying levels of force and tension at your fingertips with adaptive triggers
- Chat online through the built-in microphone and connect a headset directly through the 3.5mm jack
- Switch voice capture on and off using the dedicated mute button
- Play on more devices using the USB Type-C cable or Bluetooth to connect easily to Windows PC and Mac computers, Android and iOS mobile phones as well as your PlayStation 5
The Raiju V3 Pro uses TMR sticks and supports customization through Razer software and its app. Razer lists a weight of 258 g. It connects wirelessly through a USB-A dongle on PS5 and is also intended for PC use. The company claims up to 36 hours of battery life; that is a stated maximum, not a controlled comparison with the other two controllers.
Razer explicitly says the Raiju V3 Pro has no haptic feedback and cannot wake a PS5 from sleep. Those details matter if you expect the controller to behave like a standard first-party pad when the console is off. Wireless polling is listed at 250 Hz on PS5, while wired PC polling is listed at 2,000 Hz. Polling figures describe how often the controller reports input; they do not, by themselves, establish lower end-to-end game latency.
DualSense Edge: the Sony-first choice
The Edge is the straightforward choice when your priority is retaining Sony’s DualSense experience rather than maximizing the number of third-party controls. The available material does not include a complete current Sony specification list for Edge, so verify the exact features, included accessories, replaceable components and software behavior on Sony’s current product and support pages before relying on a detailed specification comparison.
Rank #3
- Aim and move with precision by swapping in fresh stick modules* so you’re always playing with equipment that’s in great shape. Plus, three types of changeable stick caps help you stay comfortable in-game without sacrificing grip or stability.
- Mappable back buttons The DualSense Edge wireless controller’s two swappable sets of back buttons can be configured to any other button input, so you’ve always got game-changing actions and essential controls at your fingertips.
- Adjustable trigger lengths Manually set the travel distance of your left and right triggers for an optimal experience with whatever you’re playing. Fast-paced FPS? Set a shorter travel distance to shoot faster on the field. Competitive racer? Set a longer travel distance for precise throttle control on the track.
- Remappable buttons Remap or even deactivate specific button inputs, so you can create a completely personalized control setup that’s ideal for the game at hand.
- Quick-swap control profiles Once you’ve found your ideal control settings, you can save them to unique profiles and swap between them on-the-fly, so your favourite configurations are always ready when you are.
That verification step is especially important if you are deciding between native-console features and a competitive layout. Do not infer an Edge feature, battery figure or button count from another controller’s documentation.

The battery entries are not a head-to-head test. One is a reviewer’s contextual figure and the other is a manufacturer’s maximum claim, measured under conditions that are not synchronized. Compare your local listings and your own usage expectations rather than treating 36 and 17 hours as directly comparable laboratory results.
Choose by play style
For shooters and games with frequent movement commands
Start with the Omega if you will genuinely use several remaps. Its four paddles, side buttons and G-Keys can keep movement, reload and ability commands available while your thumbs remain on the sticks. The Raiju V3 Pro is a better fit if you want fewer rear controls or like removing buttons between games. In either case, map only commands you can reach consistently; an unused button is not an advantage.

The sources do not prove that either controller delivers better aim, lower latency or greater durability than the other. TMR hardware and high polling figures should be treated as design specifications, not guarantees of in-game results.
For racing, action and immersion-focused games
If vibration or haptic sensations are central to your preference, pause before selecting Omega or Raiju V3 Pro. PlayStation says Omega removes vibration modules, and Razer says Raiju V3 Pro has no haptic feedback. The Edge is the candidate to investigate when Sony’s native DualSense experience is the deciding factor, but confirm the current Edge specification before ordering.
For mixed PS5 and PC use
Omega and Raiju V3 Pro both document PS5 and PC support. For Omega, check which profile, app and connection features are available on each operating system; the launch announcement also names Mac, iOS and Android, but that does not guarantee identical functionality on all four platforms. For Raiju V3 Pro, plan around the USB-A wireless dongle on PS5 and verify your PC’s USB ports, software requirements and preferred wired or wireless mode.

For long sessions away from a charger
Razer’s “up to 36 hours” claim is the strongest stated endurance figure in the supplied material. TechRadar’s June 2026 Omega review listed around 17 hours. Those numbers come from different sources and conditions, and no equivalent Edge figure is established here. Battery life should therefore be a tie-breaker, not proof that one controller is universally better.
For players sensitive to hand fit
Manufacturer specifications do not establish comfort. The Omega’s many controls and the Raiju’s claw-grip bumpers may be helpful or distracting depending on your grip, hand size and finger placement. If possible, try each shape in a store or use a retailer’s return policy. Do not treat another reviewer’s hands-on comfort impression as a universal result.

PS5 setup
- Confirm that the controller is in its PS5 mode rather than a PC or mobile mode.
- For the Raiju V3 Pro, connect its USB-A wireless dongle to the PS5 and follow Razer’s pairing instructions.
- For Omega, follow SCUF’s current pairing and profile instructions, then test every remapped input in a low-risk game or the PS5 control menus.
- If you are considering Edge for first-party functions, verify Sony’s current setup guidance and firmware requirements.
- Test sleep and wake behavior before storing the original controller. Razer specifically states that Raiju V3 Pro cannot wake the PS5 from sleep, so you may need the console button or another paired controller.
PC, Mac and mobile use
- Check the game’s supported input type and the controller’s required operating mode.
- Install the relevant customization software or app from the manufacturer’s current support page before assigning profiles.
- Use a wired connection when the software requires it, especially if you are configuring the Raiju’s 2,000 Hz PC polling mode.
- On Mac, iOS or Android, verify compatibility on a game-by-game basis. PlayStation’s Omega announcement names those platforms, but support can differ by mode and title.
- After changing a profile, test stick direction, trigger range and every rear or side input. A profile that works on one platform may not expose the same commands on another.
How to compare current prices without being misled
Prices in this category change by country, retailer, tax and promotion. PlayStation announced Omega launch recommended retail prices of $219.99 USD, €239.99 EUR, £209.99 GBP and ¥37,980 JPY on May 12, 2026. SCUF’s US product page showed $219.99 when accessed. Those figures describe launch or access-time pricing, not a permanent worldwide price.
TechRadar’s June 2026 review reported review-time prices of $219.99/£209.99 for Omega, $219.99/£199.99 for Raiju V3 Pro and $199.99/£199.99 for DualSense Edge. They are useful historical context, not live quotations or a synchronized three-product check. Before purchasing, compare the same currency, warranty, shipping, return terms and included accessories in your country.

Common buying mistakes and fixes
- Counting buttons instead of usable buttons: write down the commands you actually need and test whether your fingers can reach them without changing grip.
- Assuming TMR means drift-proof: TMR is a component description, not a no-drift or lifetime guarantee.
- Reading polling numbers as a latency verdict: polling frequency is only one part of the input path; no controlled comparison here proves a faster controller.
- Expecting first-party wake behavior: Raiju V3 Pro does not wake a PS5 from sleep, according to Razer.
- Assuming identical features across platforms: check the active mode, app support and game compatibility for PS5, PC, Mac, iOS or Android.
- Comparing unmatched battery figures: the Omega figure comes from a review and the Raiju figure is a manufacturer maximum; neither is a synchronized test.
- Buying on an old price: use the historical figures above only as context and check a current local listing at checkout.
- Ignoring immersion requirements: Omega removes vibration modules and Raiju V3 Pro has no haptic feedback. Investigate Edge if native Sony sensations are important.
A practical decision checklist
- List your must-have functions. If you need many simultaneous remaps, begin with Omega; if you need only a few removable rear controls, begin with Raiju V3 Pro.
- Decide whether native DualSense behavior is non-negotiable. If yes, verify the current Edge specification before considering third-party alternatives.
- Choose your connection routine. A USB-A dongle suits the Raiju’s documented wireless setup; Omega and Edge require you to follow their current pairing and profile instructions.
- Set a realistic battery expectation. Use the stated figures as reference points, not guarantees, and keep charging access in mind.
- Try the grip whenever possible. Comfort, accidental presses and reach cannot be inferred from input counts or weight alone.
- Check regional price and return protection. A small price difference is less important than receiving the layout you can operate reliably.
Verdict
Pick Scuf Omega for the broadest documented remapping capacity: 28 inputs and 11 additional customizable controls make it the clearest choice for players who will use a dense command layout. Pick Razer Raiju V3 Pro for removable rear buttons, claw-grip bumpers, a USB wireless dongle and Razer’s stated up-to-36-hour battery figure, while accepting the lack of haptic feedback and PS5 wake-from-sleep. Pick DualSense Edge when preserving Sony’s DualSense experience matters more than maximizing third-party inputs, after checking Sony’s current specifications and price in your region.
None of those matches is a measured victory in accuracy, latency, comfort or durability. The best PS5 controller is the one whose controls, feedback and connection behavior fit the games you play and the grip you can maintain for an entire session.
