Free screenshot API offers are not all the same: ScreenshotOne lists 100 screenshots that renew each month, ScreenshotAPI.net advertises 100 screenshots per account without clearly stating that they renew, and Urlbox offers a seven-day trial but says it has no free plan. Compare renewal terms, requests per minute, included features, and how failed or cached captures are counted before choosing.
Free screenshot API offers at a glance
The figures below are the providers’ published offers checked on October 3, 2026. Pricing and plan details can change, so confirm the linked provider page before signing up. Prices are displayed in USD; ScreenshotOne and Urlbox explicitly say their listed prices exclude VAT.
| Provider | What “free” means | Free offer | Published paid plans |
|---|---|---|---|
| ScreenshotNeo | Recurring monthly allowance | 1,000 screenshots per month; no card required. Every feature is available on every plan. | Starter: $5 for 3,000; Growth: $15 for 15,000; Pro: $39 for 60,000; Scale: $99 for 250,000; Business: $249 for 1,000,000. Yearly billing gives two months free. |
| ScreenshotOne | Recurring monthly allowance | 100 screenshots per month; no card required. | Basic: $17/month for 2,000 screenshots and 40 requests per minute; Growth: $79/month for 10,000 and 80 per minute; Scale: $259/month for 50,000 and 150 per minute. Prices exclude VAT. |
| ScreenshotAPI.net | Account allocation; renewal is not clearly stated on the reviewed page | 100 screenshots per account; no card required. | Essential: $9/month for 1,000 screenshots and 20 requests per minute; Startup: $29/month for 10,000 and 40 per minute. |
| Urlbox | Seven-day trial, not a standing free plan | Seven days without a credit card; Urlbox says it does not offer a free plan. | Lo-Fi: $19/month for up to 2,000 renders and 30 requests per minute; Hi-Fi: $49/month for 5,000 and 60 per minute; Ultra: $99/month for 15,000 and 250 per minute. Prices exclude VAT. |
ScreenshotOne’s and ScreenshotAPI.net’s paid-plan figures and ScreenshotAPI.net’s free offer are vendor-published claims; check the linked live pages for current terms and exact plan inclusions.
How to compare limits that affect your workload
Separate recurring credits from trial access
A monthly allowance replenishes on a schedule; a trial lasts for a limited period; an account allocation may be consumed once. ScreenshotOne explicitly says its 100 free screenshots are monthly. ScreenshotAPI.net says an account includes 100 screenshots but the reviewed page does not clearly say the allocation renews. Urlbox’s seven days are a trial, not a recurring free quota. Do not estimate sustainable monthly volume from a one-time allocation or trial.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Read quota and rate limit as different constraints
The screenshot quota governs how many captures you can use over the plan period. Requests per minute governs how quickly you can submit work. For example, ScreenshotOne’s Basic plan lists 2,000 screenshots per month and 40 requests per minute. A workload that stays below the monthly quota can still exceed the per-minute limit during a burst. ScreenshotAPI.net’s displayed paid plans and Urlbox’s displayed plans also list rate limits; the cited free-offer pages do not establish free-tier rate limits for those providers.
Check the exact features your capture needs
A larger quota is not useful if the plan lacks a required output or capture mode. Compare the live plan matrix for image formats, PDF or HTML rendering, full-page capture, cookie or ad blocking, bulk and scheduled capture, scrolling or video, geographic controls, privacy features, and storage integrations.

- ScreenshotOne’s pricing page lists PDF and HTML rendering, full-page capture, multiple image formats, caching, S3 uploads, webhooks, signed links, and stealth mode on Basic and above. It lists scrolling screenshots, video generation, and IP-location choice on Growth, and GPU rendering and priority support on Scale. Confirm the live matrix before relying on a specific inclusion.
- ScreenshotAPI.net’s free offer lists PNG, JPG, WebP, PDF, full-page screenshots, and ad blocking. Its Startup plan lists scheduled and bulk screenshots and scrolling video. Treat these as vendor-listed features and verify current availability.
- Urlbox’s pricing page differentiates tiers on capabilities including third-party capture, privacy, request timeouts, and file-size limits. Check its current feature matrix for the exact tier before choosing.
- ScreenshotNeo says every feature is available on every plan. Its listed capabilities include PNG, JPEG, WebP, and PDF output; full-page and element capture; custom CSS and JavaScript; device presets; request controls; and bulk capture.
Find out what happens when a capture fails or comes from cache
Usage rules change the practical value of a quota. ScreenshotOne says captures that fail because of HTTP, browser, or network errors do not count, and cached responses do not count; a cache miss can cause a new render that does count. Its FAQ also describes usage notifications and optional overage with a monthly hard limit. Urlbox says failed requests are not charged and that cached screenshots do not count in the cases specified in its FAQ. Check each provider’s current wording for the exact circumstances. ScreenshotAPI.net’s cited page does not establish comparable failure or cache billing rules.
Choosing by use case
- Need a recurring free allowance: ScreenshotNeo lists 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; ScreenshotOne lists 100 per month with no card. Compare needed features and billing treatment as well as quota.
- Considering ScreenshotAPI.net’s free offer: It advertises 100 screenshots per account, but the reviewed page does not clearly state monthly renewal. Confirm the renewal terms before treating it as a continuing allowance.
- Need a short evaluation period: Urlbox offers a seven-day trial without a card, but says it has no free plan. Plan around the trial’s end rather than assuming free monthly usage.
- Need a specific paid-plan rate or feature: Compare the relevant paid tier’s monthly quota, per-minute rate, and exact live feature matrix. Do not infer free-tier access from a feature listed for a paid plan.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo returns an image or PDF from one GET request. Its capture flow accepts cookie and consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
