Schneider Electric raised its 2026 growth targets again on July 30 after an exceptionally strong first half, with AI-ready data-center construction supplying the biggest demand boost. The company now expects organic adjusted EBITA growth of 14%–19%, versus 10%–15% previously, and organic revenue growth of 10%–13%, versus 7%–10%.

What Schneider Electric changed in its 2026 outlook

The revised targets apply to organic growth, which excludes the effects of acquisitions, disposals and currency movements. Each adjusted EBITA boundary increased by four percentage points, while each revenue-growth boundary increased by three percentage points.

The February 2026 full-year release had already identified Data Center & Networks as the leading growth business. The July upgrade shows that demand has continued to exceed the assumptions behind that initial forecast.

Why data centers are driving the upgrade

Cloud operators and other large customers are expanding facilities for artificial-intelligence workloads as well as conventional computing. Schneider said Data Center & Networks maintained double-digit growth despite a high comparison base, with customers scaling both AI-ready infrastructure and traditional architectures across geographies.

Schneider’s data-center exposure is broader than a single product category. Its portfolio can include electrical distribution, power protection, cooling, server-rack infrastructure, automation, monitoring and digital energy-management systems. That allows one construction or expansion project to generate demand across several parts of the company.

North America represented the majority of data-center demand in the company’s updates. Growth was also described as strong in other regions, indicating that the AI build-out is not confined to one national market.

What Schneider supplies to a data center

  • Electrical infrastructure: equipment that distributes and manages power inside high-load facilities.
  • Cooling systems: thermal-management equipment needed as processor and rack power densities rise.
  • Server-rack and facility systems: physical infrastructure that houses and supports computing equipment.
  • Automation and digital management: controls and software that help operators monitor energy use, equipment status and facility performance.

How strong was the first half?

The guidance increase followed record first-half results. Group revenue reached €21.2 billion, up 14% organically. Adjusted EBITA was €4.1 billion, up 22% organically, while net income rose 30% to €2.5 billion. Free cash flow was €1.6 billion, an increase of 244% from the prior-year period.

How data centers compare with Schneider’s other markets

Data Center & Networks is the clearest growth leader, but Schneider’s chief executive said Energy Management delivered broad-based growth across all end markets in the first half. That matters because the outlook is not based solely on one customer group or one type of facility.

Demand area Evidence in the 2026 update What is not established
Data Center & Networks Double-digit growth despite a high comparison base; strongest demand contribution No single percentage for the full business was stated in the update
North America Majority of data-center demand No regional revenue percentage was stated
Europe Growth reported across the broader geographic footprint No separate percentage was stated
China and East Asia Growth reported in the company’s regional data-center discussion No separate percentage was stated
South Asia and International Growth reported in the company’s regional data-center discussion No separate percentage was stated
Other Energy Management end markets Broad-based first-half growth, according to CEO Olivier Blum No single consolidated growth rate was provided

Is AI spending driving Schneider’s earnings and stock story?

AI-related capital spending is clearly supporting Schneider’s order environment and the earnings outlook. The company sells the power, cooling, distribution and control systems required before servers can be deployed, so its revenue can benefit from data-center construction even when it is not selling the computing hardware itself.

The higher guidance supports a stronger earnings case, but it does not by itself determine the share price. Investors still have to weigh valuation, interest rates, currency movements, execution, customer concentration and the possibility that cloud operators eventually slow construction. The announcement provides evidence of demand and profitability; it is not a guarantee of future stock performance.

Can data-center demand keep Schneider’s growth going?

The near-term case is supported by several structural factors: continued AI infrastructure deployment, expansion of cloud capacity, rising power density in server racks and the need to modernize electrical systems in existing facilities. Schneider’s combination of electrification, automation and digital energy management also gives it opportunities beyond a single construction phase.

However, demand can remain strong while reported results fluctuate. The €124 million second-quarter currency headwind demonstrates how exchange rates can reduce reported revenue even when underlying activity is healthy. The company also identified geopolitical disruption, inflation and supply-chain pressure as material risks to the outlook.

Key risks to monitor

  • Currency: organic growth can outpace reported growth when exchange rates move against the company.
  • Geopolitical disruption: trade restrictions or regional instability can delay projects and complicate sourcing.
  • Inflation: higher costs for materials, labor and logistics can pressure margins or customer budgets.
  • Supply constraints: shortages or long lead times for electrical and cooling equipment can postpone deliveries.
  • Demand concentration: North America is the largest data-center demand region, increasing exposure to that market’s construction cycle.
  • High comparison base: maintaining double-digit growth becomes harder after a strong prior period.

What the guidance increase means

Schneider’s second 2026 upgrade is a concrete signal that data-center demand, particularly for AI-ready infrastructure, is arriving faster or at greater scale than expected when the year began. The company is entering the rest of 2026 with higher revenue and adjusted-EBITA targets, strong first-half cash generation and growth across more than just data centers. Whether that momentum persists will depend on continued cloud and AI investment and on the company’s ability to manage currency, geopolitical, inflationary and supply-chain pressures.
