What the $800 saving actually means
The $1,199 figure is the lowest price reported by RobinsPost in 2026 and is presented as an $800 saving from the projector’s usual price. ProjectorCentral’s more recent retailer record lists the same model at $1,499, with Amazon shown as a seller. The difference may reflect separate retailers, promotions or timing rather than a permanent price change.

Do not treat the $800 figure as a guaranteed everyday discount. The saving is valid only against the reference price used in that promotion and only while the offer remains live.

The 300-inch figure is the maximum capability listed by ProjectorCentral, not a recommendation that every room can use. Ambient light, seating distance, wall size and image brightness all become limiting factors at very large sizes.
Is it suitable for gaming?
ProjectorCentral lists three latency modes: 15 ms at 4K/60Hz, 8 ms at 1080p/120Hz and 4 ms at 1080p/240Hz. Those figures make the projector much more plausible for competitive console and PC play than a typical cinema-only projector. To use the faster modes, the source device and cable must support the selected resolution and refresh rate.

Choose the mode that matches your priority
- 4K/60: Use when maximum resolution matters more than response time, especially for single-player games and consoles limited to 60Hz.
- 1080p/120: A practical compromise for smoother motion and lower latency.
- 1080p/240: The lowest listed lag, but only useful with a PC or other source capable of 240Hz output.
HDMI 2.1 provides the required connectivity for modern high-bandwidth sources, but the projector’s listed latency does not mean every game or input will run at those settings automatically. Set the console or PC output explicitly and enable its high-refresh mode.

Brightness ratings are not the same as a guarantee of a specific screen result. A living room with windows will wash out dark scenes more quickly than a dark theater, and a larger image spreads the available light over more area. For the best HDR contrast, use a controlled-light room and a screen sized for the projector’s throw distance rather than automatically choosing the 300-inch maximum.
Screen and throw-distance planning
The fixed 1.2:1 throw ratio means the projector cannot optically zoom to compensate for a poor placement. Throw distance is approximately 1.2 times the image width. Measure from the projector lens to the screen surface, then leave room for the chassis, ventilation and cable bends.

These are geometric estimates for a 16:9 screen. Confirm the final placement with the manufacturer’s installation guidance, especially if lens shift, keystone correction or ceiling clearance affects your room.
Screen choice
A fixed-frame or pull-down 4K-compatible screen is preferable to a bare wall when you want consistent texture and color. In a room that cannot be darkened, a screen designed to reject some ambient light may help, although viewing angle and projector placement still matter. Choose the diagonal only after measuring the available wall and throw distance.

Mount choice
At 16.5 lb, the projector needs a universal ceiling mount rated above its installed weight, with a secure attachment to a structural surface. Check the mount’s bolt pattern, adjustment range and cable clearance; a mount that merely supports the weight may still leave the lens off-center or block ventilation.

The StreamMaster Plus 2 is most compelling for buyers who want one device for 4K movies, HDR streaming and high-refresh gaming, and who can place a fixed-throw projector at a measured distance. It is less suitable for rooms where the projector must move between locations, because the 1.2:1 throw ratio limits placement flexibility, or for buyers who need a guaranteed permanent $800 discount rather than a promotion that may expire.
