Satechi’s Qi2 Wireless Car Charger delivers up to 15W of wireless charging and combines a magnetic phone mount with a vent clamp. The “twice as fast” comparison is to older Qi charging at up to 7.5W—not to Apple MagSafe, which was also described as supporting 15W in coverage of Satechi’s June 20, 2024 launch. Satechi listed it for $59.99 when its product page was checked on August 18, 2026.
What the Satechi charger is—and what comes in the box
The Satechi Qi2 Wireless Car Charger is a magnetic charging puck attached to a vehicle air-vent mount. Its stabilizing clamp and swiveling hinge let you position the phone in portrait or landscape orientation. The mount rotates 360 degrees, according to Satechi’s product page.
The package includes the charger, a 25W car adapter, a 1-meter USB-C-to-USB-C cable and a user manual. You do not need to buy a separate car adapter for a standard installation, but you do need a suitable phone and case.

The arithmetic is straightforward: 15W is twice 7.5W. It does not mean this Satechi charger is twice as fast as MagSafe. Apple describes both MagSafe and Qi2-certified chargers as faster wireless-charging options; see Apple’s charging guidance.

Wattage is a maximum power rating, not a guaranteed charge-time result. Charging speed can vary with battery level, heat, phone use, cable and adapter conditions, and the vehicle’s power environment. Apple says charging may slow in high temperatures, during demanding app use or when accessories are connected.
iPhone compatibility and case requirements
Satechi’s current compatibility list includes iPhone 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 series models, plus iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, 17e and iPhone Air. The company says Qi/Qi2-enabled devices without built-in magnetic alignment need a compatible magnetic case or magnetic sticker.

The charger is Qi2-certified, but Satechi says it is not MagSafe-certified. “MagSafe-compatible” describes compatibility; it does not make this an official Apple MagSafe charger.
- Use a MagSafe- or Qi2-compatible case with magnetic alignment.
- Satechi recommends a case no thicker than 2.5 mm.
- Do not leave a wallet or credit card between the phone and charger.
- A thick or nonmagnetic case can interfere with charging, alignment or attachment.
Mounting, navigation and CarPlay
A vent mount keeps the charger close at hand and the adjustable orientation can suit navigation. The trade-off is that the clamp depends on the shape, position and strength of the vehicle’s vent slats. It may be a poor fit for weak, rounded, motorized or deeply recessed vents.

Satechi says the phone can charge while using wired or wireless CarPlay. The charger does not create wireless CarPlay: the car and iPhone must already support the relevant CarPlay connection. Charging and CarPlay are separate functions.
Satechi lists a magnetic pull force of 0.818–0.878 kg. That rating is not a guarantee of attachment on every road or vent; phone and case weight, vibration, vent geometry and the direction of force all affect the result.

Charging limits and heat in the car
This is a 15W charger, not a 25W-class Qi2 charger. Its included 25W adapter powers the accessory; it does not turn it into a multi-device or high-output wired charger. Satechi also does not establish identical charging behavior for every iPhone on its compatibility list.
Wireless charging can add heat, especially when navigation, a bright screen, hot weather or direct sun are involved. Apple says iPhone charging can slow or pause at extreme temperatures and may be reduced during demanding tasks such as gaming, camera use or high-quality video streaming.

- Keep the phone out of direct sunlight where possible.
- Avoid directing hot air from the vents at the phone.
- If the phone becomes unusually warm, try removing a thick case and reduce demanding use.
- Check the iPhone’s battery information if charging seems unusually slow.
Size, price and purchase terms
Satechi lists the charger at 3.62 × 2.35 × 1.1 inches (9.2 × 5.97 × 2.8 cm) and 75.8 grams. Its SKU is ST-Q2CCM and UPC is 810086361625.
When checked on August 18, 2026, Satechi’s U.S. product page listed a price of $59.99, a two-year warranty, 30-day returns and free U.S. shipping on orders over $50. Prices, availability and terms can change; check the current product page before ordering.
Who should consider it—and what are the alternatives?
It makes the most sense for a driver who wants a single magnetic vent mount and wireless charger, has a compatible iPhone and case, and values cable-free placement over the highest possible charging output. The included adapter and cable make the $59.99 package ready for a typical car installation.
Choose another setup if you need more than 15W wireless output, your vents will not hold the clamp, or you prioritize wired charging predictability. Apple’s USB-C Power Delivery guidance recommends USB-C PD for faster wired charging on iPhone 15 and later; iPhone 14 and earlier use a USB-C-to-Lightning cable for faster wired charging. Wired charging requires plugging in and may call for a separate phone holder.

Apple’s September 2025 announcement listed its Qi2 25W-certified MagSafe Charger at $39 for the 1-meter version and $49 for the 2-meter version in the U.S.; those launch prices are not a current store-price check, and the charger is not an all-in-one vent mount. Satechi also sells a separate 3-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charging Stand with Qi2 25W, a desk or travel product rather than a car charger.
