Satechi ChargeView 240W Review: Is This Six-Port Mac Charger Right for Your Desk?

The Satechi ChargeView 240W Desktop Charger is a six-port, USB-C-only desk charger with up to 240W of combined output. Its headline figure does not mean every port can deliver its maximum at once: with all six ports in use, Satechi lists a 70W/70W/30W/20W/20W/20W allocation. That makes it a better fit for a high-power MacBook plus phones and other smaller devices than for six power-hungry laptops.

What the ChargeView 240W offers

The US model is ST-C6CV240C-US. Satechi specifies six USB-C ports, up to 240W combined output, a digital display and a stand that can be positioned horizontally or vertically. It has no USB-A ports, so older USB-A charging cables and devices need an appropriate adapter or a different charger. Satechi’s product page has the product details; its price and stock can change.

Macworld’s August 21, 2026 review praised the six USB-C PD ports, intelligent voltage adjustment and compact footprint, while noting the lack of USB-A as a drawback. Macworld also gave it an Editors’ Choice designation. Those are that publication’s judgments, not independent measurements for this article. Read Macworld’s review.

How much power each port can provide

Satechi’s single-port ratings differ by port pair. The first two ports have the highest stated maxima; ports C5 and C6 are intended for lower-power devices.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Port(s) Maximum with one port in use Supported standard stated by Satechi
C1, C2 Up to 140W each USB PD 3.2 EPR with AVS and PPS
C3, C4 Up to 100W each USB PD 3.0 with PPS
C5, C6 Up to 30W each USB PD 3.0 with PPS

These are single-port maxima, not six simultaneous guarantees. Satechi says the charger dynamically distributes power according to the connected devices and their negotiated requests. Its published allocation with all six ports occupied is:

Port Listed allocation with all six connected
C1 70W
C2 70W
C3 30W
C4 20W
C5 20W
C6 20W

The six listed allocations total 230W, below the charger’s stated 240W combined ceiling. This is Satechi’s published distribution, not a measured test result; the power available to a given device depends on what else is connected and what charging profile each device requests. See Satechi’s power-distribution table.

Will it charge a MacBook at 140W?

C1 and C2 support USB PD 3.2 EPR with AVS and PPS, and Satechi identifies compatible MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models supporting over-100W charging as potential beneficiaries. A 140W port rating alone does not establish that a particular MacBook will draw 140W. The Mac’s supported charging profile, the negotiated output and the USB-C cable all affect the result.

For a single device, Satechi’s quick-start guide recommends C1 or C2 for the fastest charging. Use a compatible USB-C charging cable suited to the device and the charging profile you want. The guide does not establish that a cable is included or that one cable is optimal for every device. Consult the quick-start guide.

What it is like to use on a shared desk

The useful question is not whether 240W is a large number, but whether the charger’s port allocation fits the devices you plan to connect. One demanding laptop on C1 or C2 alongside phones, earbuds or a tablet is a more natural load than six laptops that each expect high power. When several devices are charging, check their requirements against Satechi’s multi-port allocation rather than assuming each port retains its one-device maximum.

The display and stand are practical design features for a desktop setup: the guide explains placing it horizontally or vertically and reading the digital display and temperature indicator. Satechi’s guide also covers removing the display film, attaching the silicone dots and connecting mains power. No charging-speed, temperature or noise measurements are established here.

Price and availability depend on the date and market

Macworld listed the charger at $149.99 in the US and £149.99 in the UK in its August 21, 2026 review. MacRumors reported Amazon availability at launch on August 11, 2026. Separately, the Satechi page accessed for this article showed $149.99 and “Sold Out.” These are dated snapshots, not a guarantee of current price or stock; check the seller and your local market before buying. Who should consider it—and who should look elsewhere

It makes sense if

  • Your desk has several USB-C devices and you want one charger rather than separate adapters.
  • Your main computer can use the high-power output on C1 or C2, while the remaining devices draw less.
  • You value a visible display and a stand that can sit horizontally or vertically.

It is a poor fit if

  • You regularly charge USB-A devices and want built-in USB-A ports.
  • You expect every connected device to receive its single-port maximum at the same time.
  • Your laptop’s charging needs or the cable you use do not match the charger’s available profiles.

Macworld named the Ugreen Nexode 500W and 300W desktop chargers, Anker Prime 200W and 250W models, and Plugable PS-10CC as alternatives, but their port arrangements and power allocations differ. That review’s comparison is not current price verification; compare the port mix and multi-device output you need rather than choosing by the headline wattage alone.
