It established the card’s white custom design, substantial multi-fan cooler and place in Sapphire’s RX 9070-series rollout, but not its price, dimensions, power requirements or performance. The finished card later appeared as the SAPPHIRE PURE AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT OC GPU (SKU 11348-02-20G), with 16GB of GDDR6 and a boost clock of up to 3,010MHz.
What Sapphire’s teaser actually showed
The teaser previewed a predominantly white PURE-branded Radeon RX 9070 XT custom card. Images appeared to show a large enthusiast-oriented shroud and triple-fan cooler, making it visually distinct from Sapphire’s traditionally darker PULSE boards and its more elaborate NITRO+ range. It also formed part of Sapphire’s staggered marketing campaign for its Radeon RX 9070-series designs, alongside PURE, PULSE and NITRO+ families. TechPowerUp’s contemporaneous coverage described the PURE as a white custom design with a mild overclock relative to AMD’s baseline.

A promotional image cannot establish sustained clock behavior, temperatures, acoustics, PCB layout or gaming performance. At the teaser stage, Sapphire had not independently established:
- Final retail pricing or whether the card would match AMD’s US suggested e-tail price.
- Exact length, height or slot thickness.
- Total board power or power-connector configuration.
- Country-specific availability or simultaneous worldwide release.
- Noise, temperature, benchmark or sustained-boost results.
What the finished PURE RX 9070 XT became
Sapphire’s official product page now identifies the card as the PURE AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT OC GPU, SKU 11348-02-20G. Its listed specifications are:

PURE is a visual and product-family designation, not an AMD performance class. The GPU remains a Radeon RX 9070 XT; “PURE” identifies Sapphire’s board design and styling.

| Family | Typical positioning | Likely buyer |
|---|---|---|
| PURE | White or light-colored custom design with factory overclock and substantial cooling | Builders matching a white or light-themed system |
| PULSE | More conventional, value-oriented custom design | Buyers prioritizing price and a straightforward card |
| NITRO+ | Premium materials, cooling, lighting and feature set | Buyers willing to pay for a flagship-style Sapphire design |
Clock speeds, power limits, dimensions, cooling behavior and street prices vary by exact SKU. The PURE should not automatically be called faster than every PULSE or slower than every NITRO+.
RX 9070 XT platform context
AMD announced the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 on February 28, 2025, with retail availability announced for March 6, 2025. The reference RX 9070 XT uses AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture, 64 compute units, 16GB of GDDR6 on a 256-bit interface, 64MB of Infinity Cache and a 304W total board power. AMD’s launch SEP was $599 in the United States; that figure applies to AMD’s reference product and is not a guaranteed Sapphire PURE price.
Rank #4
- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- Dual-ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as standard conventional sleeve bearings designs
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
AMD’s launch materials highlighted third-generation ray-tracing accelerators, second-generation AI accelerators, FSR 4, HYPR-RX, Fluid Motion Frames 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1a, HDMI 2.1b and PCIe 5.0. AMD said FSR 4 was exclusive to Radeon RX 9000-series cards and supported in more than 30 games at launch, with additional titles planned. Those are AMD’s launch claims rather than independent benchmark results.
Checks to make before buying
- Measure the case. Confirm the card’s length, height and slot thickness from the exact regional Sapphire listing, and check clearance around front radiators and drive cages.
- Check the power supply. AMD’s RX 9070 XT quick-reference guidance lists a recommended 750W PSU. Verify Sapphire’s exact requirement for this SKU and use the specified power leads.
- Confirm connectors. Do not infer the connector type from the teaser image; verify it in the final product documentation.
- Check motherboard clearance. A large triple-fan cooler can cover neighboring PCIe slots.
- Match display needs. Verify that the listed DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI outputs meet your resolution, refresh-rate and multi-monitor requirements.
- Plan software. Install a current AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition driver appropriate for your operating system.
- Decide whether you need ARGB. The included 3-pin 5V cable matters if you want motherboard lighting synchronization.
What happened after the teaser
The teaser was historical launch buildup, not an unresolved product announcement. AMD’s RX 9070-series launch followed in February and March 2025, and Sapphire subsequently documented the PURE RX 9070 XT OC with its final clocks, memory, outputs and cooling features. As of August 18, 2026, buyers should evaluate the card as an existing product and compare the current country-specific price, stock, warranty and exact SKU against other RX 9070 XT models.
Is the PURE RX 9070 XT worth choosing?
It is a logical choice for a white-build owner who wants a factory-overclocked RX 9070 XT, 16GB of memory, a large cooler and bundled support hardware. The modest clock increase alone is not a reason to assume a major performance difference. A triple-fan card may also be unsuitable for a compact case, and a white finish can carry a premium.
Compare its verified street price with PULSE and NITRO+ alternatives. If the PURE costs close to a premium NITRO+ without independently demonstrated advantages in noise, temperatures or sustained clocks, the design premium may not be worthwhile. Users seeking lower power demand can consider the non-XT RX 9070, while buyers dependent on CUDA, DLSS or Nvidia-specific software should assess platform compatibility before choosing Radeon.
