Led by FINTOP, the round also included returning investors Bonfire Ventures, Operator Collective, Y Combinator and Veridical Ventures. Santé says its platform serves nearly 1,000 retailers and processes $2 billion in annual gross merchandise volume (GMV)—the value of goods sold across its retailers, not Santé’s revenue.
What Santé says the new funding will support
Santé presents itself as an operating platform built specifically for wine and liquor retailers, combining point of sale, e-commerce, delivery-app integrations, marketing and subscriptions. Its October announcement frames the next step as a shift from reducing administrative work toward helping stores make decisions intended to increase sales and improve operations. The $15 million Series A follows a $7.6 million seed round announced six months earlier, according to the company’s October 6 announcement.

FINTOP led the Series A. Bonfire Ventures, Operator Collective, Y Combinator and Veridical Ventures also participated as returning investors. The funding announcement does not specify how the proceeds will be allocated, so it does not establish a hiring plan, product-launch schedule or expansion target.
How AI could help a neighborhood liquor store
The announced features focus on connecting routine store records to operational suggestions and marketing work. Santé says its tools can scan distributor invoices and update inventory and costs; suggest prices and promotions for slow-moving items; segment customers for email and text campaigns; generate online catalog descriptions and images; and help schedule staff based on sales patterns. These are company-described capabilities, not independently verified results.

Inventory, costs and pricing
Invoice scanning is intended to reduce manual entry and keep product costs and stock records current. Those records could then inform price or promotion suggestions. The usefulness of any recommendation depends on its inputs: inaccurate invoices, inventory counts or cost data can undermine decisions about what to reorder or discount. This is a practical implication of the feature design, not a measured result for Santé customers.
Marketing and customer re-engagement
Customer segmentation for email and SMS campaigns, along with generated catalog copy and images, is aimed at helping retailers promote products and reach customers who have not recently returned. The company’s CEO, Darren Fike, said Santé wants to build a “growth engine” that re-engages lapsed customers and boosts retailers’ bottom lines. That describes the company’s goal; the announcement does not document a measured lift in visits or sales.

Staff scheduling
Santé also says its system can help schedule staff using store sales patterns. The announcement does not explain how recommendations are produced, what controls retailers have, or how much human review is involved. Treat the feature as a stated product capability rather than evidence of reduced labor costs or better staffing outcomes.

What Santé’s reported scale does—and does not—show
Santé reported nearly 1,000 retailers and $2 billion in annual GMV as of its October 6, 2026 announcement. GMV is merchandise value sold across the platform’s retail footprint; it is not the amount Santé earns in revenue. The Next Web’s coverage makes that distinction explicit.

The release also says the business “grew by 500%,” but does not define the metric or comparison period. It should not be read as a precise revenue-growth figure. The retailer count and GMV are company-reported scale figures, not independently verified industry statistics.

The announcement describes product functions but does not provide an independent study or customer-level results showing that they increase sales, expand margins, reduce labor costs or improve inventory turnover. FINTOP director Brittani Roberts characterized the workflows as practical and said the platform could expand margins and operational scale; those are investor views, not proof of achieved outcomes.

For a retailer considering software in this category, useful questions include:
- Which point-of-sale, e-commerce and delivery services does it integrate with, and are those integrations available in your market?
- How are costs, inventory and sales records kept accurate, and can staff correct automated entries?
- Can you inspect and override pricing, promotion, marketing and scheduling suggestions?
- What customer results are documented, and how were those results measured?
- What are the pricing, contract terms and applicable state-level coverage? The funding announcement does not provide these details.
For now, Santé’s announcement establishes a substantial funding round and a defined product direction: bringing inventory, sales, marketing and staffing workflows together for independent wine and spirits stores. It does not establish that the AI features have already produced specific financial gains.
