The reported offer ran October 6–7, but the price, stock and Prime eligibility may change; check the live listing and checkout total before buying. This is the M.2 2230 model SDSP71200TAT—not SanDisk’s different 2TB Optimus GX PRO 8100 M.2 2280 drive.
Which SanDisk 2TB SSD is on sale?
The deal is for the SanDisk Optimus GX 7100M, 2TB, model SDSP71200TAT. SanDisk identifies it as an M.2 2230-S3-M PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe 2.0 SSD and positions it for upgrades in compatible Steam Deck devices. Its 2230 form factor is the key distinction for this handheld upgrade; do not mistake it for the separate 2TB Optimus GX PRO 8100 listing, which Technobezz describes as a PCIe 5.0 M.2 2280 drive.

SanDisk’s product page and data sheet identify the 2TB product and its intended compatibility. SanDisk’s data sheet says the drive is for upgrading a “compatible Steam® Deck” (along with other compatible devices); that is manufacturer positioning, not a report of a hands-on installation.

The same data sheet lists up to 1,200 TBW endurance and a five-year limited warranty for this capacity. Review the warranty terms and device compatibility information before installation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Should you choose an internal SSD or microSD card?
An internal SSD replacement and a microSD card are different ways to add storage. Valve says all Steam Deck models support microSD expansion, so a card can provide extra storage without replacing the internal drive. Valve lists the Steam Deck configurations as 256GB LCD, 512GB OLED and 1TB OLED. The 2TB SanDisk drive is an internal M.2 2230 upgrade intended for compatible devices, while microSD is removable expansion.
