A Samsung washer may beep when it powers on, finishes a cycle, or registers a button press; a beep alone does not mean it is broken. If the sound comes with an error code, blinking lights and an interrupted cycle, record the indicator and troubleshoot for your exact model before trying to silence it.
First, tell a notification from a problem
Samsung says washer and dryer sounds can signal power-on, cycle completion, and button presses or touches. Some models let you adjust or disable certain alarms, but a beep by itself is not a diagnosis. Note the washer’s model number, when the sound occurs, whether the cycle finishes, and any displayed code or blinking-light pattern.

Blinking lights can occur during regular operation. Treat them as an error indicator when the washer is also behaving abnormally—for example, stopping mid-cycle—and use the model-appropriate guide. Samsung warns that code meanings can vary by model: “dc,” for instance, can indicate a door error on one model and an unbalanced-load error on another. See Samsung’s washer error-code guide and guide to blinking lights.

Sound controls differ across Samsung washers. Check the user manual for your model before trying a button combination; a control that works on one panel may not exist on another. Samsung identifies possible panel controls such as Super Speed, Alarm Off, or Extra Rinse. On some models, a secondary function is activated by pressing and holding its button for three seconds. These controls are not universal, and button-press sounds may remain on even when certain alarm sounds are disabled. See Samsung’s sound-control guidance.

Check the panel and display
Look for a labeled alarm or sound function, then confirm the exact procedure in the manual. Some Bespoke Combo models with a display offer sound options in Settings. Do not assume that a missing button or menu means the washer is faulty.
Check SmartThings, if your washer supports it
Some newer SmartThings-compatible washers may provide a sound switch or volume slider in the app. Samsung notes that app settings vary; if you cannot find a sound option, check the panel and manual. The model may not support app-based sound control.

If the beep comes with an error or an interrupted cycle
Write down the code exactly, note which lights are blinking, and record what the washer was doing when the sound began. Check the error guide for your model rather than relying on a code list for a different washer. If the guide does not give specific troubleshooting for the error, Samsung’s general U.S. guidance is to turn the washer off for 2–3 minutes, turn it back on, and restart the cycle. If the error returns, contact Samsung support; a restart is not a fix for every fault.

For a door error, check the closure without forcing it
A door error means the washer is not detecting the door as closed and locked. Check whether laundry or another item is caught between the door and frame, then make sure the door closes fully and the latch is secure. Do not force the door open. If the code persists or the door or latch is damaged, arrange service using Samsung’s door-error guidance.

Could Child Lock be responsible?
Child Lock can make controls unresponsive and, on some models, lock the door. The enabling combination is indicated by two buttons on the washer; use those panel labels or the manual to identify the correct combination for your model. Active buttons and icons vary. Restarting the washer does not turn Child Lock off. Samsung also documents a two-minute alarm on certain models if a door is left open after a temporary-off period; that is a model-specific behavior, not a general explanation for beeping. See Samsung’s Child Lock guidance.
