Yes—some Samsung Galaxy phones support Samsung Wallet, an app for payment cards and other supported digital items. It is not a physical wallet built into the phone, and not every Samsung phone or Wallet feature is guaranteed to work. Compatibility depends on your model, software, region and, in some cases, carrier and participating partners.
What Samsung Wallet does
Samsung Wallet brings supported cards, passes and digital keys together in one app. Samsung Pay is integrated into Wallet as its payment function; it is not a separate physical wallet in the phone. Depending on your location, device and participating providers, Wallet may also support membership cards, transit tickets or passes, airline boarding passes and digital keys.

For payments, you need an eligible card from a participating bank and a place that accepts contactless payments. Transit passes, boarding passes and digital keys depend on support from the relevant transit agency, airline, vehicle or lock, as well as your device. Which Samsung phones can use Wallet?
Samsung’s US support FAQ says Wallet is available on devices running Android 9 or later and lists selected Galaxy S, Note, Z and A models, including some older phones. That Android requirement alone does not mean every phone running Android 9 qualifies: the exact model must also be supported. Samsung says features and content can vary by country or region, device model, carrier and firmware version.

Check Samsung’s US Samsung Wallet compatibility and support FAQ for the current model list. If you live outside the US, check Samsung’s support information for your country, since availability and features may differ.
How to check and set up Samsung Wallet
- Check your exact phone model and region. Find your model in your phone’s settings, then compare it with Samsung’s current local compatibility information. Confirm support for the feature you intend to use, not just the app.
- Open or install Samsung Wallet. Samsung says the app can be downloaded from the Galaxy Store or Google Play. If it is not available for your phone or region, check Samsung’s local support page rather than assuming the device is compatible.
- Sign in and complete setup. You will need a Samsung account. Setup may ask you to verify with a fingerprint or create a Wallet PIN.
- Add an eligible card or supported item. For payments, your card must be supported by a participating bank. Follow the in-app steps to add it and complete any issuer verification.
- Confirm partner and venue support. Before relying on a transit pass, boarding pass or digital key, verify that the agency, airline, vehicle or lock supports Wallet on your device.

What Samsung says about payment security
Samsung says Wallet uses tokenization and Knox protections. Its US support FAQ explains that tokenization replaces sensitive payment-card details with a device-specific token; Samsung says merchants receive that token during a payment while card information is encrypted for issuer approval.
