Samsung Wallet and Phantom serve different purposes. Samsung announced a partner-operated USDC service for eligible U.S. users, while Phantom is a self-custody wallet that supports Solana. A transfer from Samsung Wallet to Phantom may work only when Samsung offers a compatible Solana route and the receiving Phantom address is set up for USDC on Solana. Samsung’s announced launch was still in the future as of October 9, 2026, so check current availability before relying on it.

Samsung’s announcement names Bastion as its framework provider and Coinbase as sub-custodian, with USDC safeguarded via Coinbase Prime Vault. Can I send USDC from Samsung Wallet to Phantom?
Potentially, but compatibility is conditional. Samsung says its service will send USDC to compatible external wallets on supported networks; it names Solana among its technical partners. Phantom supports Solana. Those facts make a Samsung-to-Phantom transfer plausible, but do not guarantee that every account, route or version of either app will support it.
Before sending, confirm the network shown by Samsung is Solana and that the receiving Phantom address is the Solana address you intend to use. Do not choose a network or destination based only on the ticker “USDC”: the same token name can refer to assets from different issuers or on different blockchains.

Check the asset as well as the network
Solana identifies tokens by mint address. Its payments documentation lists the Solana mainnet USDC mint as EPjFWdd5AufqSSqeM2qN1xzybapC8G4wEGGkZwyTDt1v. Confirm the token’s network and verified details in the wallet interfaces rather than assuming any token labeled USDC is interchangeable. Solana payments documentation
Use a cautious transfer sequence
- In Phantom, select the Solana account and use its receive address. If you use Solana-only mode, Phantom says it focuses the interface on Solana accounts, balances, tokens, NFTs and history. Phantom’s Solana-only mode
- In Samsung Wallet, check that external USDC sending is available to your account and that Solana is an offered network for that transfer. Samsung’s announcement does not establish the final in-app network choices.
- Compare the destination address carefully and verify the asset is USDC on Solana at both ends. If the network, asset or destination is unclear, stop rather than guessing.
- Review the amount, any displayed fee and the estimated delivery information before confirming. Samsung says speed depends on network conditions and receiving providers may impose fees. Samsung Electronics America announcement
Solana’s documentation notes that a sender needs sufficient token balance and must sign a transaction. Network-fee arrangements depend on the payment design, so check the wallet’s displayed requirements for the transaction you are making. Solana payments documentation

Does Phantom support USDC on Solana?
Phantom is listed by Solana as a self-custody wallet for Solana and other networks, and its Solana-only mode can focus its interface on Solana assets. That supports using Phantom to manage Solana assets, including USDC when the correct token is available in the wallet. Confirm the network and token details shown in Phantom; a familiar token name alone is not proof of the asset’s identity. No. Samsung’s announcement describes an arrangement in which regulated partners provide accounts, custody and money movement; Samsung says it does not hold customer funds and requires biometric authentication to initiate transfers. This differs from Phantom’s self-custody model, where control rests with the wallet user. For Samsung, read the partner terms and in-app disclosures to understand the practical rules for account access, recovery and transfers. Which wallet fits your use?
Choose Samsung Wallet if its announced service suits your situation
- You are an eligible U.S. resident and meet Samsung’s announced age, account, device, identity-verification and biometric requirements.
- You want a partner-operated account and the service’s available transfer routes, rather than managing a self-custody wallet.
- You have confirmed Samsung Wallet supports the destination and network you need. Samsung says eligible users may also send to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries, but countries, banks and account types vary; the app is expected to show fees and estimated delivery before confirmation. Samsung Electronics America announcement
Choose Phantom if you want self-custody for Solana assets
- You want to manage Solana assets in a self-custody wallet and are prepared to manage wallet access yourself.
- You prefer a mobile app or browser extension listed by Solana, with an optional Solana-focused interface. Solana wallet directory Phantom’s Solana-only mode
- You do not need to treat Phantom as a bank-transfer service; the cited materials do not establish that capability.
What is known—and still uncertain—about Samsung’s launch?
Samsung Electronics America announced the feature on October 7, 2026, with a planned rollout in the last week of October. The announcement also says the feature initially supports USDC. As of the October 9 announcement snapshot, launch completion could not be confirmed. Check Samsung’s current service information and the app before making plans.
The announcement does not identify eligible Galaxy models, prove which networks will appear in the finished app, or establish that every external wallet route will be supported. Solana Foundation said 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices would have access to the announced feature; that is a stated device count, not a count of active users. The Foundation also reported a nearly 20% year-over-year increase in Solana stablecoin supply and more than $5.25 trillion in Solana stablecoin volume during 2026; those are Foundation figures, not independently audited figures in the cited announcement.
