Which model has the advantage for battery and display?
On the stated figures, the Redmi 15 5G has the larger typical battery capacity and higher wired-charging rating. Those are specification differences, not proof that it lasts longer in everyday use or reaches a full charge sooner in every situation. Actual endurance and charging time depend on usage and conditions, and the cited pages do not provide a controlled comparison.
Xiaomi lists the Redmi display at up to 144 Hz, but refresh rate is only one factor in viewing quality. The supplied Samsung product information does not state a comparable display figure, so the available specifications do not establish which screen looks better. Compare brightness, panel technology, resolution, and what the display looks like in person when those details are available for the exact regional models.

Which phone offers longer software support?
For these two India-market examples, the stated model-specific support period is longer for the Galaxy M17 5G: Samsung lists six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, while Xiaomi lists two years of Android upgrades and four years of security updates for the Redmi 15 5G. Samsung qualifies its information as current plans rather than a commitment, and lists 30 September 2031 as the security-update validity date on the cited page.

Do not apply those figures to every phone from either brand. Samsung’s general security page says that, as of January 2024, support was being extended by up to seven years for eligible Galaxy devices; eligibility and rollout cadence vary by device. Samsung’s security-update scope is not a seven-year promise for every Galaxy phone.

How should you compare cameras, speed, and ownership costs?
Camera quality
Do not infer photo quality from brand or specification lists alone. Look for independent samples from the exact models, including daylight, indoor, low-light, portrait, and video examples if those uses matter to you. The available product information does not establish which phone takes better photos.

Performance for your workload
Consider the apps and tasks you actually use: everyday browsing, video calls, demanding games, or switching between many apps. A processor name by itself does not establish which phone will feel faster in those tasks, and the available evidence does not include controlled performance testing of these models.
