The LG G6 is the better choice if Dolby Vision, processing of lower-quality video, or less black-level lift in a bright room matters more to you. The difference is preference-dependent: the Samsung’s matte screen cuts glare, while the LG better preserves dark-scene contrast against ambient light.
Samsung S95H vs LG G6: the key differences
| What matters | Samsung S95H | LG G6 |
|---|---|---|

| RTINGS overall comparison | Slight edge overall, with brighter, more vibrant colors | Close competitor; sustains bright highlights longer, though RTINGS says the content where this is visible is extremely rare |
| Bright-room picture | Matte anti-reflective coating reduces glare more effectively | Less black-level rise, helping preserve picture quality in ambient light |
| Lower-quality video | Not the preferred set in RTINGS’ comparison | Better processing, according to RTINGS |
| HDR formats listed by sources | HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG; RTINGS lists no Dolby Vision | Dolby Vision is listed on LG’s US product page |

Which TV has the better picture?
Samsung S95H: more vivid HDR color
RTINGS gives the S95H a modest overall advantage, citing colors that appear brighter and more vibrant and a slightly more realistic HDR presentation. That does not mean every viewer or scene will look better on Samsung: the comparison also describes the sets as similar in overall brightness and gives LG an advantage in sustaining bright highlights.
TechRadar’s tested modes showed similarly broad color accuracy and gamut, with some red tones rendered more strongly by the G6 and a reviewer preferring S95H/S99H skin tones in particular scenes. Its measurements, taken after an update as of July 3, 2026, reported 99.97% UHDA-P3 and 89.3% BT.2020 HDR gamut coverage for its S95H/S99H sample, versus 99.3% UHDA-P3 and 83% BT.2020 for its G6 sample. These are TechRadar measurements of its test samples, not manufacturer specifications or a promise about every unit.

LG G6: stronger processing for rougher sources
RTINGS favors the G6 for processing low-quality material. If you often watch compressed streams, older broadcasts, or lower-resolution video, that processing advantage may matter more than the Samsung’s HDR color edge. LG advertises Brightness Booster Ultra as making the G6 “up to 3.9x brighter” than a regular OLED; that is LG’s manufacturer claim, not an independent head-to-head brightness result against the S95H.
Which is better in a bright room?
Choose based on the problem you are trying to solve. The S95H’s matte anti-reflective coating is more effective at reducing visible reflections, such as a window or lamp reflected in the screen. The G6 has less black-level rise in ambient light, so dark portions of an image hold up better when the room itself is bright. Reflection suppression and black-level lift are separate characteristics; one does not cancel out the other.

HDR formats: Dolby Vision may decide it
LG’s US G6 product listing includes Dolby Vision. TechRadar lists HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG for the S95H, while RTINGS’ comparison says Samsung does not support Dolby Vision. If your preferred films, streaming service, or playback device uses Dolby Vision, the G6 is the straightforward fit. The benefit depends on the titles and devices you actually use; not every HDR program is Dolby Vision.

Gaming features and connections
Both televisions are positioned for high-refresh-rate gaming. LG’s US product page specifies up to 165Hz and support for NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium. TechRadar reports four HDMI 2.1 inputs on the S95H, with 4K at 165Hz, full VRR, HDR10+ gaming and ALLM. The same review measured 9.5ms input lag at 60Hz; that figure is tied to TechRadar’s test and refresh condition, so it should not be treated as a directly comparable result without matching test methods.

TechRadar describes the S95H’s silver FloatLayer frame as a design some buyers may find controversial and notes that it uses two plastic feet rather than the prior central pedestal. Its review calls the built-in sound solid, while noting that a separate audio system can provide fuller sound. An external soundbar is optional, not a requirement for using either TV.
Price and availability: compare the same size in your market
Prices and model suffixes vary by country, retailer, size, and date. Samsung’s US 55-inch product page displayed $2,499.99 when accessed on October 8, 2026. That is a dated listing observation, not a current quote or a like-for-like comparison: no synchronized current LG price was established. TechRadar’s reported launch prices are historical and should not be used as today’s offers. Compare live prices for the same diagonal and local SKU before deciding which is better value.
Verdict: which one should you buy?
- Choose Samsung S95H for the modest overall edge in RTINGS’ comparison, punchier HDR color, and stronger reflection reduction.
- Choose LG G6 for Dolby Vision, better handling of lower-quality content, or less black-level lift in a bright room.
- If gaming or installation is the deciding factor, verify the exact regional model, input mode, included mount or feet, and connected-device compatibility rather than assuming every listed feature applies identically everywhere.
Neither is a universal winner. The better buy is the one whose specific strengths match your room, content, devices, and same-size local price.
