There is no single wattage for every Samsung refrigerator. Samsung says rated input power varies by model; its Korea support guidance gives about 150 W only as an approximate reference for side-by-side models. For your refrigerator’s exact figure, check its rating label or the Samsung specification page for the full model code and your market. To compare energy use over time, look at kWh per month or year rather than watts alone.
What refrigerator wattage tells you—and what it doesn’t
Watts (W) measure electrical input power at a point or under an operating condition. Kilowatt-hours (kWh) measure energy consumed over time. A refrigerator’s rated input power is therefore not the same thing as its monthly or annual energy use, and it does not mean the compressor continuously draws that many watts.

Samsung’s guidance treats rated input power and standardized monthly consumption as different figures. The company says its rated power depends on the model. Its Korea support article gives approximately 150 W as a reference for side-by-side refrigerators, not as a specification for every Samsung unit. These examples illustrate why the exact model, market and unit matter. They are not interchangeable measurements or a promise of what a particular household will use.

- Multi-function power monitor: Our electric usage monitor can monitor the power (W), electricity(kWh), voltage(V), frequency(Hz), current(A), power factor(PF), unit price($/kWh), total cost($) of your appliances. By switching 8 display modes, you can easily know the various parameters while the appliance is working. The “electricity” mode can calculate and display how much power your appliance uses. And the “total cost” mode will show how much electricity bill it cost in cumulative time
- Overload protection: When the loading power of the appliance is over the default overload threshold 1800W, the whole display with backlight and the word “OVERLOAD” will keep flashing to warn the users. Please turn off the appliance for safety concern
- Premium Material: The whole body of our energy meter is made of high-quality ABS material. It makes our home electricity usage monitor more long lasting, fireproof and anti-drop. The standard US socket and plug is suitable for all US standard appliances
- Backlight Display: With white backlight and black words, the LCD display of our home power monitor can display the data clearer and help you to read the data easier no matter day or night. The backlight will only lights up when the device is connected to AC power. If no button is pressed, the backlight turns off automatically after 10 minutes. You can also press the "UP" button to turn off the backlight manually, and press any button to turn on backlight again
- Easy to reset: No reset tool needed, our appliance power usage meter is easy to reset. You can press the “M” button for 5 seconds directly to reset the device. After reset, all cumulative data (electricity quantity, cost) will be cleared, and all settings will be restored to factory settings

The figures come from different models and regional sources. In particular, do not treat the Korea estimate of about 150 W and a US or Canadian annual-kWh figure as equivalent measures.
How to find the figure for your Samsung refrigerator
- Find the full model code. Use the code on the appliance label or your purchase documentation; partial names can refer to different versions.
- Read the appliance’s rating and energy labels. Samsung Korea says rated input information appears under the input field on the rating label for the side-by-side guidance it provides. Standardized monthly consumption is shown on the energy label.
- Check the matching regional Samsung product page. Search by the complete model code on Samsung’s site for your country or market. Specifications can differ by model and region.
- For supported connected appliances, check SmartThings Energy. Samsung describes energy-use views for supported appliances. Availability depends on the appliance and region, and estimated costs can differ from your utility bill. Samsung SmartThings Energy support
Why actual energy use can differ from the published figure
Standardized consumption provides a basis for comparing products under a prescribed method; it is not a guarantee of a household’s result. Samsung’s Korea support guidance says actual use can differ from the standardized monthly figure. Samsung’s product fiche likewise states: “Actual energy consumption will depend on how the appliance is used and where it is located.” Samsung product fiche

If you have an applicable energy-use figure and know your electricity rate, multiply energy by the rate using consistent units. For example, an annual figure in kWh multiplied by a price per kWh gives a rough annual energy cost; a monthly figure multiplied by that rate gives a rough monthly cost. This is an estimate based on the published consumption figure, not a prediction of your actual bill. Do not use the wattage alone as though it were continuous consumption: watts need a duration of operation to calculate energy.
