These are reported October prices, not a new Samsung U.S. MSRP sheet: Samsung’s official price list available here records the earlier March 2026 launch prices.
Reported U.S. Galaxy S26 prices in October 2026
The table compares Samsung’s March 2026 U.S. MSRP sheet with the October 1 prices reported by Tom’s Guide. October figures are attributed to that report; Samsung’s March sheet does not confirm the later prices. The report gives whole-dollar prices, while Samsung’s launch MSRP list uses prices ending in .99.
| Model and storage | Samsung March 2026 MSRP | October 1 reported price | Reported change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26, 256GB | $899.99 | $999 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26, 512GB | $1,099.99 | $1,199 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26+, 256GB | $1,099.99 | $1,199 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26+, 512GB | $1,299.99 | $1,399 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra, 256GB | $1,299.99 | $1,399 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra, 512GB | $1,499.99 | $1,599 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra, 1TB | Not stated in Samsung’s March MSRP sheet | $1,999 | +$200 |
March MSRP figures are from Samsung’s U.S. MSRP list effective March 2026. October reported prices and changes are from Tom’s Guide’s October 1 report. The $200 increase applies to the 1TB Ultra, not the 256GB Ultra, which the report lists at $1,399.
How the October change differs from launch pricing
Samsung announced the Galaxy S26 series in February 2026 and said general availability would begin March 11. Its launch announcement listed starting prices of $899.99 for the S26, $1,099.99 for the S26+, and $1,299.99 for the S26 Ultra. The official announcement describes available storage options as 256GB and 512GB for S26 and S26+, and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB for Ultra. See Samsung’s February launch announcement.

The distinction matters most for the S26 and S26+: Tom’s Guide says their launch prices were already $100 above comparable S25 models. The October reports describe a later change, so the launch increase and October increase are separate events. Tom’s Guide says the S26 Ultra had kept its $1,299 starting price at launch before the reported October adjustment.
What is confirmed—and what is not
Android Central independently reported the October 1 increases: $100 across the listed 256GB and 512GB S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra configurations, and $200 for the 1TB Ultra to $1,999. That agreement supports the broad account, but the October figures in these reports are not a later Samsung price sheet. Samsung’s March document says prices are subject to change without notice.

Retailer prices were not synchronized when the reports appeared. Android Central observed that Best Buy had updated its 1TB Ultra listing while Amazon, Target, and Walmart had not; Tom’s Guide also noted some original prices at Amazon. Those are dated observations, not evidence of current prices or availability. The S26 FE was reported unchanged at $699 in Tom’s Guide’s account, but that is outside the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra configuration table.
Why did Samsung raise prices?
The October reports do not establish Samsung’s reason for this repricing. Do not treat memory costs as a confirmed explanation for the October update. Comments reported around the March launch refer to the earlier pricing context: Samsung America mobile executive Drew Blackard cited accumulated product improvements, and Samsung Mobile COO Won-Joon Choi told The Verge that memory shortages made a significant contribution to higher launch prices, alongside tariffs and rising material costs. These comments are summarized in Tom’s Guide’s March launch-price coverage; they do not explain the October adjustment.

What to check before buying
A listed price is not necessarily the amount a buyer will pay. Retail discounts, carrier financing, trade-in credits, taxes, and stock can alter the final cost, and the reports do not verify current terms. Compare the exact storage size and whether the offer is unlocked or carrier-specific, then review the complete financing or trade-in conditions before checkout. Samsung’s live listing confirms 256GB and 512GB options, but the price capture available for this coverage does not establish a reliable current price.
