Samsung’s Galaxy S26 prices were reported higher online on October 1, 2026, months after the series launched. In the United States, the 256GB Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra each rose by $100 in reports, while the 1TB S26 Ultra rose by $200. The Galaxy S26 FE was reported unchanged.
Reported US Galaxy S26 prices after the October change
Tom’s Guide reported the following Samsung US online prices on October 1, 2026. Android Central independently reported the same increases for the 256GB and 512GB configurations and the 1TB Ultra. These are dated reports of online listings, not a promise that every seller or checkout page shows the same amount today.
| Model and storage | Earlier price reported | Price after reported change | Increase |

| Galaxy S26 Ultra, 1TB | $1,799 | $1,999 | $200 |
The earlier figures in this table are the prices described by the October 1 reports. They should not be confused with a current live listing, a carrier installment total, or a promotional net price.
How the reports compare with Samsung’s launch prices
Samsung’s US launch announcement on February 25, 2026 listed original starting prices of $899.99 for the Galaxy S26, $1,099.99 for the S26+, and $1,299.99 for the S26 Ultra. Samsung said preorders were available through Samsung.com, Amazon Stores, Best Buy, Samsung Experience Stores, and carriers, with general availability beginning March 11, 2026.

| Phone | Original US launch starting price | Reported October 1 online starting price | Difference from launch starting price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26, 256GB | $899.99 | $999 | About $99.01 higher |
| Galaxy S26+, 256GB | $1,099.99 | $1,199 | About $99.01 higher |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra, 256GB | $1,299.99 | $1,399 | About $99.01 higher |
The launch amounts include cents because they come from Samsung’s official announcement; the October figures are the rounded amounts reported from online listings. The comparison therefore describes the change in reported pricing rather than establishing a universal checkout total.
Was every Galaxy S26 model increased?
No. The Galaxy S26 FE was listed at $699 with no change in the comparison reported by Tom’s Guide. The reported increases applied to particular S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra storage tiers, so it is not accurate to say that every Galaxy S26 model rose by the same amount.

Where were higher prices reported?
GSMArena said it checked several Samsung.com regional stores and found higher prices in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, mainland Europe, and India. It also said it had not checked every region. That makes this a reported multi-market change, not proof that every country or every configuration received an identical increase.
Exact local-currency prices can differ by country, tax treatment, storage tier, and the date of the listing. Buyers outside the markets named above should check their own regional Samsung store rather than extrapolating from the US table.

Why did Samsung raise the prices?
The reviewed reports establish the reported amounts and markets but do not provide a Samsung explanation for the October adjustment. Earlier coverage discussed memory and component-cost pressure around the phone’s launch, but that context does not prove why Samsung changed online prices months later. Any claim about the cause remains unconfirmed unless Samsung publishes one.
What to check before buying a Galaxy S26
Online prices can diverge quickly. Android Central reported that Amazon, Target, and Walmart had not changed their prices when its October 1 article was published, but that observation was time-sensitive and should not be treated as a standing guarantee.

- Match the exact model and storage. A 256GB S26 and a 512GB S26 are different price comparisons, as are the three S26 families.
- Identify the seller. Compare Samsung’s live listing with the retailer or carrier you intend to use.
- Separate list price from promotional value. Trade-in credit, instant discounts, preorder bonuses, and carrier bill credits can reduce a buyer’s net cost without changing the advertised phone price.
- Check contract conditions. A carrier offer may require activation, a qualifying plan, or monthly installments, and may lock the phone to that carrier for a period.
- Include regional taxes and fees. The figures above are reported US online prices and do not establish a final tax-inclusive total for every buyer.
- Confirm the listing date. Samsung and retailers can alter prices, inventory, and promotions after the October 1 reports.
What this means for shoppers
If you are comparing the S26 with its launch pricing, the reported US increase is roughly $100 for the 256GB S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, and $200 for the 1TB Ultra. The FE was reported unchanged. Because retailer offers and regional prices may differ, the sensible benchmark is the live price for your exact storage tier after accounting for trade-in value, taxes, and carrier requirements.
